Meet me on the mountain. ⛰️🌿

There is something beautiful that happens when we step away from the noise of the world and into God’s creation.

A few months ago, our hike team came together, each of us carrying heavy things, somewhere along the trail, there was room to breathe, laugh, cry, connect, release, and heal.

A beautiful reminder that people need other people and we are all connected.

So, if you’re carrying something heavy… if your heart needs some space… if you’re longing for connection, community, or simply time with God

Come hike with us. 🤍

We’re heading back to the mountain in a few weeks.

Come as you are. Bring what you’re carrying. Let’s see what God does on the mountain.

A SWEATY BALL CAP IS PROOF YOU SHOWED UP. 🧢🎤🧢

Whether you’re starting over or just getting started, your first step is about showing up.

Three things that can make it easier:

1. Stop waiting until you feel ready.
You may never feel completely ready. Start anyway.

2. Focus on the next step.
You don’t have to figure out the whole journey. Just take the next step.

3. Get comfortable being uncomfortable.
Starting something new, or starting again, can feel awkward, messy, and hard. That doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong.

You don’t have to have it all figured out.
You just have to be willing to start.

T-minus 57 days….

Are you actively struggling against your failures, or just reacting to them in sadness?

There’s a difference between feeling bad about something and actually fighting to change it. I can regret what I did, beat myself up over it, promise I’ll do better and still end up right back in the same place.

It’s not good enough to just hold firm against what you don’t want to do. You have to intentionally run in the opposite direction.

Change usually happens when we stop focusing only on what we need to quit and start choosing what we need to do instead.

Don’t just feel bad. Move.

IRON SHARPENS IRON.

What does it really mean to be a healthy friend?

A friend isn’t just someone you laugh with, spend time with, or share memories with.
A true friend is someone who speaks life into you. Someone who can see things in you that you may not be able to see in yourself.

✨They celebrate you while challenging you.
✨They encourage you while telling you truth.
✨They don’t just remind you who you are, they emphasize WHOSE you are.
You are a child of God!
✨They don’t compete with your growth. They contribute to it.

I’m grateful for the people in my life who sharpen me, stretch me, encourage me, pray for me, and speak truth over me!

These are some of the people who speak life into me. They are spiritual mentors. They are friends. They are family!
And I am better because they are in my life.

Iron sharpens iron, and one person sharpens another. — Proverbs 27:17

Who are the people in your life who sharpen you?

GO AND FIND YOURSELF A TRIBE!

✨Women who will celebrate you without comparing themselves to you.

✨Women who will tell you the truth, even when it’s uncomfortable.

✨Women who will sit with you in the hard places without trying to fix you.

✨Women who will remind you who you are when you forget.

✨Women who are willing to grow and want you to grow, too.

You were never meant to do this life alone.

Go find your tribe.
And when you find them, be the kind of woman who becomes part of someone else’s tribe, too.

Feeling overwhelmed? Pause before you react.

Emotional regulation doesn’t mean you don’t feel your emotions. It means you give yourself a moment to choose what you do with them.

Here are 3 simple ways to regulate in a stressful moment:

🌿 BREATHE.
Let’s take three deep breaths together.

Place your hands on the sides of your head and gently squeeze in and up as you breathe in slowly through your nose. Hold that breath for a few seconds, and then slowly release it through your mouth.

Do this three times.

Slow your breathing. Slow your body. Give your brain a chance to catch up.

🧠 PAUSE.
Allow yourself to talk to your brain. Take a breath. Place your right hand on the right side of your head and simply remind yourself, “Calm down. We don’t have to solve this right now.”

When we’re stressed, we may be responding to more than what we can see in the moment.

🧘‍♀️ SIT WITH IT.
Step away if you can. Remove yourself from the situation and allow yourself to sit with what has happened without believing you need to solve it, change it, or fix it right now.

Just be.

Healthy emotionally regulated behavior allows for feeling and releasing emotions without allowing them to control you or dictate your behavior.

It may sound backwards, but forgiveness is an act first and a feeling second.

Too often, we wait until we feel ready to forgive. But forgiveness rarely works that way. It begins with a decision: I will no longer hold this against you.

The emotions may take time to catch up. The hurt may still be real. But every act of forgiveness loosens the grip the past has on us.

The heart follows where our choices lead. Choose forgiveness. The feelings will follow!

Is it time for a perspective change?

Sometimes what we believe is “the truth” is actually just the story we’ve told ourselves long enough that it feels true.

Here are 3 signs your perspective may need a reset:

⭐ 1. Your thoughts are absolute.
“I always…” “I never…” “Nothing will change.”
When your thinking leaves no room for possibility, it may be time to pause and question the story.

⭐ 2. You’re using one experience to define everything.
A failure becomes “I’m a failure.”
A rejection becomes “Nobody wants me.”
A hard season becomes “My life will always be this way.”
Growth mindset asks, What can I learn from this instead of what does this say about me? (American Psychological Association)

⭐ 3. Your perspective is keeping you stuck.
If the way you’re thinking about a situation keeps producing the same fear, resentment, avoidance, or hopelessness, it may be time to look at it differently.

A perspective change doesn’t mean pretending something didn’t happen.

It means asking:
“Is this actually the truth—or is this the way I’ve learned to see it?”

Sometimes healing begins with seeing the same situation through a new lens.

Some transitions are exciting.

Some are heartbreaking.

And some are both. ❤️

Today, I dropped my son off at college, and I was reminded that transition is a natural part of life.

We don’t have to resist it.
We don’t have to rush through it.
We don’t have to pretend it doesn’t hurt.

So how do we move through transition in a healthier way?

✨ Feel what you feel. Give yourself permission to experience it all.

✨ Stay connected. Don’t isolate when life feels unfamiliar.

✨ Give yourself grace. You’re learning how to live in a new season.

Transitions are normal. They mean we are letting go of what was and making room for what’s next, often creating the space both people need to grow into their next chapter.

Trust you are exactly where you are supposed to be for today. ❤️
