As a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach, I believe strongly that food is medicine and great at reducing the risk for many things. Eating walnuts every day is a priority for supporting overall health but especially, brain health.
🧠Walnuts contain Omega-3 Fatty Acids and are the only nut with a significant amount of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) and other polyunsaturated fatty acids that help maintain integrity of brain cell membranes.
🧠Walnuts contain antioxidants and Polyphenols packed with vitamin E, folate, melatonin, and flavonoids. They counter oxidative stress, a primary driver of age-related dementia.
🧠Walnutshave anti-inflammatory Compounds with nutrients that collectively work to decrease neuroinflammation(btain inflammation)and lower the risk of cellular death.
🧠Walnuts also have been shown to decrease buildup of amyloid-beta. These protein plaques are a primary hallmark of Alzheimer's disease pathology.
🧠Walnuts can improve cognitive function.
🧠Walnuts support vascular health. Brain health is deeply connected to cardiovascular health. Walnuts have been shown to improve blood vessel function, lowering vascular risks that contribute to dementia
