Yesterday at CDS, we got Spooned!

Thank you to Jim "The Spoon Man" for a morning full of laughter, music, and unforgettable moments. Clients were clapping, singing along, and a few lucky volunteers even got to join the show as members of Jim's band!

🚧 OH Expansion progress update! 🚧

First up: the gym 👀🏀 The new gym floor is currently being installed, and we’re excited to see this space start coming together. Once completed, the gym will include bleachers, a scoreboard, and a brand new professional-level basketball court for clients to enjoy.

This is just one part of the many exciting changes happening at Opportunity House. We’ll be sharing regular updates highlighting different areas of construction as our facility continues to take shape, so make sure to follow us to stay tuned!

A huge thank you to the Sycamore Fire Department for welcoming us in and giving us a tour of their beautiful new fire station! 🚒

Our clients had such a great time trying on the gear, checking out the equipment, and getting an up-close look inside the fire trucks and emergency vehicles. We’re so grateful for community partners who take the time to create fun, hands-on experiences like this for our individuals!

Did you know that Opportunity House offers Home-Based Services as part of our programs and supports? Through HBSS, individuals can receive personalized support while continuing to live and be involved in their communities.

Recently, members of our HBSS program got together for a pizza party filled with food, laughs, and time with friends. 🍕 We love creating opportunities for connection and community like this alongside the support services we provide every day.

MISSION MONDAY 🌷🎨

One of the most meaningful parts of our mission at Opportunity House is helping individuals with developmental disabilities enjoy community life, and last week's Art in Bloom was such a wonderful example of that in action. The event brought together clients, families, local artists, businesses, volunteers, and community members for an evening centered around creativity and connection.
