Fall means two big transitions happening at once for a lot of families — back to school and back to sports. New schedules, new gear, new coaches — and bodies that are coming off a summer that looked a lot different from August training schedules.

At Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists, we like to think of preseason as a reset button. A conversation about easing into conditioning instead of jumping straight into full-contact practice. A plan for staying healthy through a season that can fly by.

SOS Star Ted Lambert, PT, has been part of the SOS team since 2014, specializing in joint replacement at our East Syracuse location.

He built his clinical foundation locally, earning a degree in Exercise Science from Syracuse University before completing his Doctor of Physical Therapy at SUNY Upstate Medical University.

That local, hands-on training has shaped a decade of steady, dedicated care for SOS patients.

It is great to see that mission backed by community leaders like NYS Senator Rachel May, whose support is helping students get where they're trying to go. 💙

We were honored to welcome NYS Senator Rachel May to On Point during our Student Orientation!

With Senator May’s support, On Point was able to add this van to help students access important opportunities throughout the year—from college and career tours to workshops, programs, and transportation to and from college during breaks.

SOS Star Max Greenky, MD is a board-certified, fellowship-trained surgeon specializing in hip and knee joint replacement.

A four-year varsity letter winner in sprint football at the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Greenky brings that same competitive drive and discipline to his work helping patients get back to what they love.

He completed his fellowship in Adult Reconstruction Surgery at Duke University, following his residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, where he was named Academic Chief Resident. Dr. Greenky is part of the SOS Joint Replacement team, working alongside his father, Dr. Seth Greenky, and uncle, Dr. Brett Greenky, both founding partners of SOS.

It's a testament to the Greenky family's legacy at SOS, and we're proud to have Dr. Max Greenky on the team!

What a sweet way to celebrate our incredible teams! 🍦

Our physicians at SOS and New York Spine & Wellness Center hosted an ice cream social for all of our teams, serving up plenty of smiles, sprinkles, and appreciation. We loved seeing our doctors get into the spirit of the day, donning their aprons and getting behind the counter to serve up some sweet treats!

The SOS docs were proudly “mendin’ bones and serving up cones,” while the NYSWC team reminded us that it’s “pain relief for our patients, sweet relief for our staff.” ❤️

It was a well-deserved afternoon of fun, appreciation, and, of course, ice cream! 🍨

Ever had a finger catch, click, or lock in a bent position before snapping straight? That's often trigger finger, and it's more common than you'd think.

Our hand and wrist specialists at SOS see this condition regularly, and it's usually tied to repeated gripping, whether from tools, sports equipment, or everyday hobbies. The encouraging part is that trigger finger is very treatable once properly diagnosed, from simple splinting to a quick outpatient release procedure for more stubborn cases.

SOS Star Dr. Michael Clarke is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon, board-certified by The Royal College of Surgeons.

He specializes in primary and revision hip and knee replacement surgery, hip arthroscopy, and has a particular interest in hip resurfacing, having one of the longest and largest experiences of this procedure in the entire USA.

Dr. Clarke is a respected lecturer both nationally and internationally on Hip Replacement and Resurfacing, and has published original research in the field. He also serves as an invited peer reviewer for several leading orthopedic journals read by surgeons worldwide.

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Clarke performs and oversees laboratory and clinical research projects aimed at advancing the treatment of hip disease, and has been awarded numerous research grants to continue exploring novel orthopedic technologies.

It's this kind of drive that makes our team, and our patients, better every day. Thank you, Dr. Clarke!

Since 1999, On Point has helped students navigate the entire college journey, from application through graduation, while also supporting career planning and non-college credential paths. Their work reaches students facing real obstacles, including housing insecurity, foster care history, and immigrant or refugee status, and meets them with free, hands-on support every step of the way.

We're honored to help carry and support them in their mission.
