Prolapse can feel terrifying.

The fear, the anxiety, the “Will I ever feel normal again?” thoughts are so real.

But here’s what I want you to know: pelvic floor therapy is about so much more than Kegels. It’s about understanding your body, reducing symptoms, building confidence, and helping you get back to living your life.

A prolapse diagnosis doesn’t define your future. Support exists, and you don’t have to figure it out on your own. 🤍

In this video I’m using Myofascial Release (MFR) techniques. This type of therapy focuses on treating restrictions in the body’s fascia.

Fascia is a continuous web of connective tissue that surrounds:
▫️muscles
▫️nerves
▫️organs
▫️blood vessels
▫️joints

You can think of it like a stretchy internal “body suit.” Ideally it glides and moves freely, but injury, inflammation, surgery, stress, posture, or trauma can cause it to become tight and restricted.

For pelvic floor dysfunction specifically, sustained gentle approaches can sometimes work better than aggressive stretching because they:
▫️reduce guarding
▫️improve tolerance
▫️calm the autonomic nervous system
▫️avoid flaring sensitized tissue

Symptoms don’t always show up during big, obvious moments like double unders, sneezing, or coughing.
They often happen during the in-between—small tasks around the house, caring for your baby, or even while resting.

This is exactly why a functional assessment matters.

Your pelvic floor is part of a system:✨ It works with your breath✨ It coordinates with your core + hips✨ It responds to posture, load, and movement patterns

So before jumping into strengthening, we have to ask:👉 Is it weak, overactive, or just not coordinating well?👉 What happens when you move, lift, squat, carry your baby?👉 Are you managing pressure effectively?

Because real progress comes from:✔️ Understanding your specific pattern✔️ Restoring coordination (not just strength)✔️ Building strength that actually translates to daily life

Your body deserves more than a one-size-fits-all approach.

If you’ve been doing “all the right things” and still dealing with symptoms, it might be time to look deeper. 🤍

“Mommy thumb” AKA De Quervain’s tenosynovitis - a sign your body needs support 🤍

If you’ve noticed pain at the base of your thumb or along your wrist when lifting your baby, opening jars, or even texting… you’re not alone. It happens when the tendons in your wrist become irritated from repetitive strain (aka all the holding, feeding, carrying, and comforting you do daily).

✨ Why it happens:• Repetitive lifting (especially with your thumbs outstretched)• Hormonal changes affecting tissue sensitivity• Weakness or imbalance in the wrist + forearm• Lack of support during feeding or carrying

✨ What it can feel like:• Sharp or aching pain at the thumb/wrist• Pain when gripping, twisting, or lifting• Swelling or tenderness along the thumb side of the wrist

✨ What helps:• Adjusting how you lift your baby (hint: keep wrists neutral!)• Using pillows or support during feeds• Gentle mobility + strengthening exercises (see above!!)• Bracing in more irritated phases• Addressing full-body mechanics (yes, even your core + posture matter here!)

Your body is adapting to a HUGE new demand. Let’s support it the right way 💪
