What do you know about ashwagandha and rhodiola?

These are two of the most talked-about supplements for stress on social media right now, but it’s important to know they’re not interchangeable.

While ashwagandha is often used to support a healthy cortisol response and calm an overactive stress system, rhodiola may help improve resilience, focus, and mental energy during periods of burnout.

In functional medicine the goal is NEVER to just manage symptoms. It’s to understand why your body is struggling with stress in the first place and address the root cause.

Adaptogens can be powerful tools to help regulate your body, but lasting wellness starts with a personalized approach. ✨

40% of people is insane!

The bigger picture is methylation: a core process that happens billions of times per second and influences detoxification, hormones, mood, sleep, inflammation, and even DNA repair. When it’s not working optimally, symptoms like fatigue, anxiety, brain fog, headaches, and poor sleep can show up across multiple systems.

This is where many people get stuck treating symptoms instead of looking deeper. With the right testing, nutrition, lifestyle support, and targeted nutrients, methylation pathways CAN be supported.

Not all fatigue is burnout.

Often, it’s stress physiology and specifically cortisol dysregulation. Cortisol helps regulate energy, blood sugar, inflammation, and stress response, but when it’s out of balance, you can feel tired, wired, anxious, inflamed, or stuck in stubborn weight changes.

High and low cortisol can show up differently, but both leave the body depleted. Support yourself with the basics: sleep, blood sugar balance, nervous system regulation, and reducing total stress burden.

This topic REALLY gets me going.

If you’ve ever been told your symptoms are just stress, just hormones, or your labs are normal while you KNOW something is off, you’re not alone. Women are often dismissed in healthcare because symptoms are treated in isolation instead of as a full-body picture.

Your body systems are DEEPLY connected. Cortisol, thyroid, blood sugar, inflammation, and stress all influence each other, so when one thing is off, everything can feel off.

Bottom line: you’re not imagining it, and you deserve care that looks deeper than surface-level answers. Advocate for yourself, and make sure you’re voice is heard, not dismissed!

There’s something so powerful about watching a woman in her 50s own it in the gym.

Let me be a reminder of that every day! Strength doesn’t have an expiration date, and it becomes even more intentional as we age.

Women over 50 are not “slowing down;” we’re building muscle, protecting longevity, and showing up for ourselves in ways that redefine what aging looks like. Never give up on your body. Never assume it’s too late.

The work you put in now is an investment in how you move, feel, and live for the decades to come!

GLP-1s (and GLP-1/GIP) have completely shifted the wellness conversation practically overnight.

While many people are seeing real benefits, metabolic health is about far more than the number on the scale. Muscle mass, nutrient status, blood sugar regulation, inflammation, stress, sleep, and lifestyle habits all play a role in long-term outcomes.

This isn’t about bashing GLP-1s or discouraging you from using them as a tool. It’s about having a more complete conversation and a balanced approach.

Don’t cancel me for this BUT...

Your favorite wearable wellness device doesn’t actually know if you’re healthy. 🫢⌚️

I know that’s probably not what you want to hear in 2026 when everyone’s obsessed with recovery scores, sleep scores, readiness scores, glucose spikes, and tracking every metric possible.

Before anyone comes for me, I want to preface this with the fact that I DO think these tools can be incredibly helpful, but somewhere along the way, we’ve started acting like a ring, watch, or app knows more about our bodies than we do.

I’ve seen people with “great” numbers who are exhausted, anxious, burned out, struggling with symptoms, and wondering why they feel so terrible.

The thing is, your wearable can tell you how long you may sleep, but it can’t tell you that you’ve been carrying chronic stress for years, it can’t measure the emotional load you’re under, it can’t quantify burnout, and it DEFINITELY can’t explain why you feel off when everything on the app looks perfect.

Real health is how you feel, not just what you track…..agree or disagree?

Can we talk about something for a second?

So many women hit their 40s and 50s and suddenly feel like they’re becoming a different person. They’re more anxious, more reactive, more overwhelmed by things that never used to bother them, and the assumption is usually, “I don’t know what’s wrong with me lately.”

But honestly? A lot of the time, your body is just responding differently than it used to. Between hormone shifts, years of accumulated stress, disrupted sleep, and the nonstop pace of modern life, your nervous system can become a lot easier to trigger and a lot slower to recover.

That’s why you might find yourself snapping more quickly, feeling constantly on edge, or struggling to handle things that once felt manageable. You haven’t become weak; you’ve been carrying a lot for a long time.

And here’s the part I wish more women understood: the goal isn’t to become less emotional, it’s to stop living in a constant state of survival.

Has anyone else noticed they’re less tolerant of stress now than they were 10 years ago?
