People always ask me how did you do it all?

But I didn't decide to become a plastic surgeon and a lawyer all at once. I started as a surgeon, and spent years building a practice and refining my craft. Then later in my life, when I felt that was solid and was ready for a new challenge, I went to law school.

My "secret" is just one goal at a time. Give something your complete focus until it stands on its own, and then let yourself reach for the next thing. It's never too late to chase a passion, but you don't have to chase them all on the same day.
