We’re proud to have so many of our team members participating with Dream Team Traverse City. This is going to be an amazing event, and we can’t wait to see our community come together in support of these athletes!

We've got some exicting news! Your very own Dream Team is hosting the first annul All-Star event at Traverse City Pit Spitters on June 27. 3 games 10AM 12PM and 2PM. We will be joined on the field by the Miracle League of Mid Michigan and West Michigan. So many exiciting things to share, but first, WE NEED YOU to join us as Super Fans or on the field volunteering. If you can help please click on the link below.

Tickets are only 5.00 and available at the gate, doors open 1-hour prior to each game. You won't want to miss this super special inclusive game.

Thursday, July 2, 2026, will be an early release day for the Traverse City location only. The Traverse City Program will close at 1:00 PM due to scheduled electrical maintenance that requires a power shutdown.

Important transportation information:

Individuals who are privately transported must be picked up no later than 1:00 PM.

BATA transportation will begin transporting individuals home starting at 1:00 PM.

Additional information will be provided for team members who are scheduled to work in the community. Arrangements will be made to ensure they are transported home safely.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we complete this necessary maintenance.

Holiday Closure Reminder:

Both the Traverse City and Mancelona locations will be closed on Friday, July 3, 2026, in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

🌧️⚾ The rain couldn't stop our team members from having a great time at the Traverse City Pit Spitters game yesterday! 😄👏

This week, we had the privilege of supporting Kristie through her very first interview!

Before we went in, staff reminded Kristie—who can sometimes get quiet around new people—that this was *HER* interview. We assured her that we would be there to support her, but she would be the one doing the talking.

Kristie rolled confidently into the room, introduced herself, and explained why she was there. During the interview, she truly shined! Staff only needed to step in once to help her answer a question.

And she got the position!

Kristie will now be an official volunteer at Crossroads Resale Shop every Thursday, helping with cleaning, pricing, and stocking items. As she becomes more comfortable in her role, she may also have the opportunity to learn how to run the cash register.

This is a huge step toward greater independence for Kristie! We could not be more proud of this woman and the way she is serving her community.

A great opportunity for parents and guardians!

Are you a family caregiver of an adult with an Intellectual or Developmental Disability (IDD)? Are you age 40 or older?

Researchers at the University of Illinois Chicago are looking for family caregivers to help pilot test a survey about what helps adults with IDD and their family members thrive. Participants will complete an online survey, take the same survey again one week later, and provide feedback on the survey experience.

Participants who complete both surveys will receive a $25 gift card.

Special thank you to Charlotte Nisbet from the League of Women Voters of the Grand Traverse Area for visiting and presenting "Voting for Everyone." Charlotte shared valuable information about voter registration, accessibility accommodations, and the importance of participating in our democracy.

Having a disability does not mean you don’t have a voice. Every eligible voter deserves the opportunity to be heard, make informed choices, and participate in shaping their community. We appreciate Charlotte for helping empower individuals with the knowledge and confidence to exercise their right to vote.

It was such an amazing night last week when Austin had the honor of singing the National Anthem at the Traverse City Pit Spitters game! ⚾️✨

Our staff member Dan was demonstrating how a magnifying glass could be used to burn names on wood. Peter was fascinated by the process and asked Dan to make one with his name on it.

Peter was so proud of his personalized piece that he ran around and showing it to everyone. His delight made this simple science project really memorable!
