You have been curious for months, and not knowing how it goes is the part that stalls it. 💧

Totally normal to want the whole picture first, so here it is.

When you come in, your nurse talks with you first. What is going on, how you have been feeling, and what you are hoping to get out of it. That conversation is how you land on the right drip instead of guessing off a menu.

Then you get comfortable. She starts the IV, and that part takes about ten seconds. Every drip we build sits on a full liter of Lactated Ringers, the same fluid used in hospital trauma care, because it mirrors your blood plasma in a ratio your body recognizes. From there it is 45 to 60 minutes in a recliner while it works. People read, answer emails, nap, or talk to whoever came with them.

The IV start is the only part that takes any effort, which tells you something.
