As we prepare to celebrate 250 years of this remarkable country, I’m reflecting back on the journey that has led us here.
Looking at this photo of my boys from a Fourth of July parade years ago reminds me how much has changed and how grateful I am for the opportunities that have been given.
I’m deeply grateful to live in a country where an idea can become a business. Where a calling can become an organization. Where someone with a vision, a willingness to work hard, and a desire to serve can create something that makes life a little better for others.
That freedom has allowed me to build Float Magic, The Locale, and Entheos Co. it’s allowed me to create spaces for healing and connection, advocate for first responder wellness, support our downtown community, and dream even bigger about what’s possible. None of it happened overnight, and none of it happened alone, but all of it happened because I had the opportunity to try.
America isn’t perfect. No nation is. But I believe one of our greatest strengths is the freedom to build, to contribute, to innovate, to challenge ourselves, and to leave our communities better than we found them.
For me, patriotism isn’t just found in fireworks or flags. It’s found in serving your neighbors, lifting others up, creating opportunities, caring for your community, and using your gifts with purpose.
Today, I’m simply grateful.
Grateful for the people who have supported my journey. Grateful for the challenges that have shaped me. Grateful for the freedom to pursue meaningful work. And hopeful that each of us continues to use our own unique gifts to make a positive difference.
Happy 250th, America. May we continue striving to become the very best of what we’re capable of ~ for ourselves, for our communities, and for the generations coming after us. 🇺🇸
