I’ve had to gently shut a few things down this month… and I’m not even mad about it 😌
After 15+ years as a licensed master aesthetician (and now owning my own medspa), I’ve gotten really good at spotting a snowball before it starts rolling.
First up-people showing up already tan or sunburned.
Immediately no. Your skin is already stressed. I’m not about to add laser on top of that.
Second-too many cooks in the kitchen.
I’ve had patients come in with advice from their workout buddy, ChatGPT, and even a surgeon who casually recommended aggressive CO2 on Fitzpatrick 4 skin with zero prep.
My personal favorite? ChatGPT told someone IPL wasn’t good for their skin… then turned around and suggested a “light and bright” treatment.
Which is… IPL and Fraxel.
