Wednesday Warrior - Realizing Success ๐Ÿ’™

At Support Services of Virginia, we are fortunate to have team members who consistently go above and beyond in their commitment to the individuals we support, their coworkers, and our mission. This week's Wednesday Warrior recognition proudly goes to Lisha Oliver, Site Coordinator for the Day Program!

Since joining SSVA in January 2024, Lisha has demonstrated what dedication,
perseverance, and leadership truly look like. Beginning her journey with the company as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), she quickly proved herself to be a dependable and compassionate team member. Through hard work, a positive attitude, and a commitment to personal and professional growth, Lisha worked her way into the role of Site Coordinator, where she continues to make a lasting impact every day.

Lisha is known for her willingness to step up whenever needed. Whether it means covering additional shifts, helping out on weekends, supporting staff, or ensuring individuals receive the quality services they deserve, Lisha consistently puts the needs of others first. Her reliability and strong work ethic make her a valued supervisor and a trusted leader among her peers.

What truly sets Lisha apart is the caring and person-centered approach she brings to those she supports. She works hard to create an environment where individuals feel respected, valued, and encouraged to reach their goals. Her genuine compassion and commitment to providing quality support embody the mission and values of SSVA.

Outside of work, Lisha enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She is a proud mother with a daughter who participates in dance, and she absolutely loves being a grandmother. When she is not busy supporting others, you can often find her traveling, attending concerts, cheering on the Washington Commanders, or spending quality time with friends and loved ones.

Lisha also has a passion for learning and professional development. She is always looking for ways to expand her knowledge and skills and is currently exploring and learning more about QIDP responsibilities and skills. Her desire to continue growing professionally is just another example of the dedication she brings to her role.

Lisha, thank you for your unwavering commitment, your leadership, and your willingness to always go the extra mile. Your hard work does not go unnoticed, and the positive difference you make in the lives of those we support is truly appreciated.

๐Ÿ’™ Congratulations, Lisha Oliver, our Wednesday Warrior! ๐Ÿ’™

๐ŸŒŸ Wednesday Warrior - Realizing Success๐ŸŒŸ

This week's Wednesday Warrior spotlight shines on Jennifer Ansley, who will be celebrating her birthday next week! ๐ŸŽ‰

Jennifer's journey at SSVA is a remarkable example of the growth, dedication, and lifelong learning that our organization embraces. Starting her career as a DSP, she continually sought opportunities to learn, grow, and serve others. Over the years, she has excelled in numerous roles, including ASC, SC, Head of Services, QIDP, PBSF, and now Head of Human Resources.

Along the way, Jennifer earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees, married Annie, who we are fortunate to have as part of the SSVA family as our Nurse Educator, purchased a home, and built a life filled with meaningful experiences, friendships, and beloved pets, including two Australian Cattle Dogs and a well-loved adopted cat. ๐Ÿพ

Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys traveling, fine dining, concerts, plays, and spending time with her many friends. Her commitment to personal and professional development reflects the very best of SSVA's values and culture.

Jennifer's story reminds us that growth happens when we are willing to embrace new opportunities, continue learning, and challenge ourselves to become better versions of who we are. She inspires us through her dedication, resilience, leadership, and willingness to keep growing both personally and professionally.

Please join us in celebrating Jennifer, wishing her a very happy birthday, and thanking her for the many contributions she has made to SSVA throughout her career. ๐ŸŽ‚๐ŸŽˆ

๐Ÿ’™ Jennifer, thank you for being an example of what is possible when passion, perseverance, and lifelong learning come together. Your journey inspires all of us, and we are grateful for the leadership and heart you bring to SSVA every day.

Caregivers deserve care, too. ๐Ÿซ‚

Dolly Parton shared that while caring for her husband, Carl Dean, she put her own health aside and ignored symptoms she should have paid attention to. And why does that sound so familiar?

Millions of caregivers know what it means to put themselves last because society tells them thatโ€™s just part of the job.

Weโ€™re grateful to Dolly for a lifetime of care โ€” from helping children discover the joy of reading, to funding COVID-19 research, to speaking openly about the toll caregiving can take while acknowledging the importance of caring for her loved ones.

We believe in a world where everyone who gives care gets the care they deserve, too. ๐Ÿค

Wednesday Warrior - Realizing Success

This week we recognize Franklin Ferguson, one of Danville's outstanding DSP Relief Staff members! Franklin has been a valued member of the Support Services of Virginia team since December 2023, and he consistently exemplifies the dedication, compassion, and excellence that define our mission.

Franklin goes above and beyond for both the individuals we support and his fellow team members. He takes the time to truly get to know each individual, learning about their interests and favorite activities so he can help enrich their quality of life in meaningful ways. His genuine care, patience, and commitment make a lasting impact on those he serves.

Not only is Franklin dedicated to the individuals, but he is also an incredible teammate. He is always willing to step in where needed, offering support and encouragement to those around him. Franklin has a unique way of reminding others of their value and inspiring them to strive for success. His positive attitude and servant-hearted leadership demonstrate exactly what Support Services of Virginia stands for.

When he's not serving with SSVA, Franklin stays just as busy. He works as a Principal with Pittsylvania County Public Schools while also helping operate his family's moving business. Despite his full schedule, he still makes time to enjoy life with his wonderful wife and family. If you ask those who know him, they'll tell you Franklin is always willing to lend a helping hand and is happiest when he's making a positive difference in the lives of others.

Franklin, thank you for your unwavering dedication, your positive influence, and the care you show every day. We are grateful to have you as part of the SSVA family and appreciate everything you do to make a difference in the lives of others.

Wednesday Warrior - Realizing Success

This week we recognize Kendra Moser, SSVA's Regional Head of Infrastructure for Western Virginia, who has been serving our mission since 2012.

Kendra has a remarkable ability to see a need and take action. Through persistence, problem-solving, and countless interactions with agencies and community partners, she has helped individuals access critical benefits, secure stable housing, and navigate complex systems that can often feel overwhelming.

She was instrumental in obtaining a housing voucher that made a life-changing move possible, overseeing the process from advocacy and follow-up to housing renovations. More recently, she took the lead in helping individuals gain access to Medicare and DSNP benefits, including ensuring that those for whom SSVA serves as representative payee were enrolled when eligible.

Whether she's solving problems, removing barriers, or advocating for the people we support, Kendra consistently goes above and beyond to make a difference.

When she's not working, you'll likely find her camping andenjoying time at the lake.

Thank you, Kendra, for your dedication, persistence, and commitment to improving lives. ๐Ÿ’™
