🎨 Practicing what I preach.

Today, I made some time for me and did a little therapeutic art. And honestly? I needed it. 💛

There’s something so grounding about the simple, mindful motions of the brush, choosing colors, and allowing yourself to reflect while you create.

Before I knew it, I was in a flow state, completely focused on what I was doing instead of everything else happening around me.

And THIS is one of the things I love about Recreational Therapy. 🙌

We use meaningful, enjoyable activities not just to “keep busy,” but to help build coping skills, support emotional well-being, improve focus, encourage self-expression, and create opportunities to be present.

Sometimes you don’t need to think your way through everything. Sometimes you need to do something that helps you feel your way through it. 💫

Twinning while repping Recreate Yourself. These girls are my why! I hope to make them proud, teach them to be kind to others, stand up for themselves, and to break down barriers for people that need it. Thankful for their support.

We had a great turnout today at Boccia Bash at Town of Wake Forest! Boccia is a very adaptable and highly competitive sport in the Paralympics. Make sure to check out our calendar on our website for more upcoming events.

CAF’s 2027 Annual Grant Program will open for applications on September 28 and close on November 13 (only seven weeks). It's highly competitive, so mark your calendar and apply early!

The program supports athletes with physical disabilities by providing funding for adaptive sports equipment, training, competition expenses, and more.

We’ve made important updates to ensure grants reach athletes with the greatest need. You can find info + tips to help you prepare on our site.
