Please join us in welcoming Lindsay Turner Trammell to NPWH as our new Director of Policy, NPWH’s first full-time policy role! This new position reflects a strong commitment from the NPWH Board of Directors to making policy and advocacy a strategic priority as we work to elevate the WHNP profession and women’s health nationally.

With more than a decade of senior-level policy leadership experience, Lindsay brings a proven track record of translating policy strategy into meaningful impact. Most recently, as Director for Policy at the Society for Research in Child Development, she strengthened the organization’s policy strategy, expanded its influence in Congress, and helped achieve federal legislative and regulatory wins supporting scientific research and children and families.

At NPWH, Lindsay will lead our policy and advocacy agenda, working with policymakers, coalition partners, members, and NPWH leadership to advance policies that strengthen the WHNP profession, support the full use of WHNP expertise, and expand access to high-quality women’s healthcare.

Many patients receiving care at federally qualified health centers were never screened for depression, despite recommendations for universal perinatal screening. Research from the inaugural CJNPWH research issue highlights important gaps in screening and reinforces the need for consistent assessment during pregnancy and postpartum to better identify patients at risk.
