Our founder was 26 years old when she was diagnosed with fibroids and told to have a hysterectomy.
Instead of accepting that, she went looking. She found the specialists, the research, the alternatives nobody had offered her. And in 2013 she built the place she’d needed: The Fibroid Foundation.
Thirteen years later we’re in more than 180 countries. We’ve testified, pushed for federal fibroid legislation, contributed to major treatment research, supported countless women and formed the community our founder needed.
The work isn’t close to done. Fibroids affect an estimated 26 million American women and receive a fraction of the research funding that number demands.
We turn 13 this month. Help us keep going when you GIVE 13 using the link in our bio. $13, $26, $39, or as many thirteens as you can manage to help us celebrate an impactful 13 years, and fund the next 13 ahead.
How old were you when someone finally told you your period wasn’t normal?
