I want to argue that there are distinct advantages to doing specialized counseling in the context of one's local church, and I would even propose that it should be the norm.

The matter of paying your pastor isn’t a cultural issue; it’s a biblical mandate. And it must be handled as such.

God’s Word languishes in the pulpit because churches have been taught to invest in buildings and projects, not men who have given themselves to the ministry of the Word.
