And I have BIG plans for this wall!!

Did you know that approximately 1 in 8 women in the United States will develop breast cancer during their lifetime?

ONE IN EIGHT. 🥺

That’s our moms. Our sisters. Our grandmas. Our daughters. Our best friends. Our neighbors. Our customers.

And behind every statistic is a REAL person, a REAL family, and a REAL story. 💗

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and here at The Bridge, we want to do more than just wear pink.

🎀 We want to EDUCATE.
🎀 We want to SUPPORT.
🎀 We want to HONOR.
🎀 We want to REMIND you that your health matters.

So here’s your friendly Friday reminder: Know your body, pay attention to changes, and talk with your healthcare provider about when you should have a mammogram. 💕

💜 LET’S TALK RETT. 💜

You’ve seen the purple ribbons going up around The Bridge… but you might be wondering:

What exactly is Rett syndrome?

October is Rett Syndrome Awareness Month, and one of our biggest goals this month isn’t just raising money — it’s raising AWARENESS. 💜

Rett syndrome is a rare neurological disorder caused, in most cases, by changes in the MECP2 gene. It primarily affects girls and can impact things like movement, communication, hand use, breathing and many everyday activities.

But here’s something I especially want people to remember:

💜 Not being able to speak does NOT mean having nothing to say.

People living with Rett syndrome can communicate in different ways — including eye gaze, communication devices, expressions and other cues. And there is an entire person behind that diagnosis who deserves to be talked TO, included, heard and given choices. 💜

This month we’re going to keep sharing little pieces about Rett syndrome, because awareness starts with simply learning something you didn’t know yesterday.

And meanwhile… those purple ribbons are going UP! 🥹

Every ribbon represents a donation, a name, a loved one, a fighter, a survivor, a Rett warrior, someone we remember, or simply someone choosing to stand behind these two incredible causes.

October at The Bridge is about so much more than pink & purple drinks. This month is about AWARENESS, SUPPORT & COMMUNITY. 🫶

And we’re starting something that we hope absolutely FILLS The Bridge by the end of October…

All month long, you can make a $1+ donation and add a ribbon to our wall!

Choose your ribbon:
🎀 PINK — Breast Cancer Awareness
💜 PURPLE — Rett Syndrome Awareness

Write your name, the name of someone you love, someone you’re supporting, someone you’re remembering, or simply a message of hope on your ribbon. Then we’re covering our front wall with them. 🥹

Our goal? By the end of October, we want to see RIBBONS EVERYWHERE. 💕💜
