Last night I celebrated 2 YEARS in business…with ice cream cake. 🤤

I may no longer be Lizzy Loves Ice Cream on Instagram, but I’m still very much Lizzy who loves ice cream.

This past year has been a BIG one.

I rebranded, launched Your Best Self, worked on my website, created new resources, hosted workshops, made connections in my community, worked with some pretty amazing women… and learned A LOT along the way.

And can we talk about the fact that running a small business is really fu***ng hard?!?

You’re making approximately 847 decisions a day.

There are no coworkers sitting next to you to say, “Hey, do you think this is a good idea?”

You’re responsible for the work and the marketing and the content and the emails and the website and remembering to take a picture when you’re actually doing something worth posting.

And even when you’re technically “off,” your brain is still thinking about the business.

But then…

You get a message from a client saying you helped them change their relationship with food.

Someone tells you, “You inspired me to start taking better care of myself.”

A woman realizes she doesn’t have to start over every Monday.

All of this makes it worth it. ❤️

So today, I just want to say thank you!

Thank you for every like, comment, share, referral, encouraging message, client recommendation, and “I saw your post!” moment.

And thank you to the women who have trusted me to be part of their health journeys. I genuinely love what I get to do and the women I get to help. ❤️

Here’s to Year 3 of Your Best Self and to more ice cream!

What’s something you’re celebrating lately? I want to hear it! 👇

Fiber, what is it good for? 💩
Since I’m celebrating TWO YEARS in business, I wanted to celebrate by giving a little something back to you!

Last month, I asked you what nutrition area you could use some help with with the and the winner was…

FIBER!

So I listened and created a simple Fiber Resource to help you figure out where you can easily add more fiber into your day without making it overwhelming.

No complicated rules.
No overhauling your entire diet.

You don’t have to feel motivated every day to make progress.

The truth is… nobody does.

The people who reach their goals aren’t the ones who wake up every morning excited to meal prep, exercise, or make the “perfect” choice.

They’re the ones who have built habits that support them when motivation is low.

Because real change happens on the days when:

It’s raining and you still go for the walk
You’re tired but you still prioritize yourself
Your schedule is packed but you find a realistic option

Your health doesn’t need perfection. It needs consistency.

The goal isn’t to become someone with endless discipline.

The goal is to create routines that make taking care of yourself the default.

If this resonated with you…

Protein doesn’t have to be complicated!

A simple rule of thumb to get your minimum daily intake: take your body weight and divide it by 2. That’s a great starting point for your daily protein goal.

For example:
150 lbs ÷ 2 = 75 grams of protein per day

Is it the most precise calculation? No. But it’s an easy, practical way to make sure you’re getting in the ballpark without overthinking it.

If you want a more individualized range, here’s a simple calculation:

1️⃣ Take your body weight in pounds and divide by 2.2 to get your weight in kilograms.
2️⃣ Multiply your weight in kilograms by 0.8 and by 1.2.

Example:
150 lbs ÷ 2.2 = 68.18 kg

68.18 × 0.8 = 54.5 grams
68.18 × 1.2 = 81.8 grams

This gives you a starting range of approximately 55–82 grams of protein per day.

Personally, I like my “divide by 2” method because it’s quick, easy to remember, and gets most people headed in the right direction.

If you’re a busy woman who feels like she overdid it yesterday, here are 3 simple ways to reset today- no extremes, no starting over.

1. Build a balanced breakfast- Think protein + carbs + fat + fiber. This helps stabilize your energy, curb cravings, and get you out of that all-or-nothing mindset.

2. Hydrate- Yesterday was busy. You were focused on everyone else. Today, start with water. Your body will thank you.

3. Move your body- This is NOT about “burning off” candy, dessert, or drinks. It’s about boosting your mood, energy, and getting back into your routine. Walk, stretch, or workout, whatever feels good.

You don’t need to “make up” for yesterday. You just need to take care of yourself today.
