A new study in Radiology demonstrates the clinical utility of using Dynamic Digital Radiology (DDR) to estimate rapid pulmonary regurgitation (PR) severity before irreversible right ventricular failure in patients after Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) repair. The study reports that DDR is “A novel dynamic chest radiography technique can be used to easily and rapidly detect severe pulmonary regurgitation, demonstrating excellent diagnostic performance”

This important research underscores the high diagnostic value of DDR as a rapid (7-second), low-cost hemodynamic tool that is reproducible and highly accessible, performed with the same technology used for chest radiography.

In an accompanying editorial, Dr. Jochen Gerstner Saucedo writes that this research is significant in terms of efficiency and reproducibility, “bridging a vital diagnostic gap for patients who require quantitative surveillance but lack access to MRI.” He adds the data suggests DDR is more than a better version of chest radiography—it is a “quantitative tool with a diagnostic accuracy comparable to that of MRI for identifying surgical candidates,” and that DDR could be applicable to detecting other causes of PR and serve as a tool detecting cardiac rhythm disturbances.

DDR is an award-winning, clinically proven technology that allows clinicians to visualize anatomy in motion. It is fast, versatile, accessible and low dose. Learn more how it can provide added value in pulmonology, chest radiography, orthopedic, musculoskeletal and modified barium swallow studies.

Jared Seibel, Account Executive and Dan Baskel, Vice President-Strategic Partnerships & Enterprise Healthcare, most recently had the opportunity to spend two days at the Rural Minnesota Health Forum, which Konica Minolta Healthcare proudly sponsored.

A big thank you to Medi-Sota, Inc. for inviting us—especially Jennifer Gearman, Executive Director, for her partnership and leadership in bringing together such an impactful event (pictured with Jared and Dan in the booth).

The forum brought together over 40 Critical Access Hospitals and Rural Health Systems, creating a valuable space for collaboration, innovation, and meaningful conversations around the future of rural healthcare.

Given KMHA’s continued focus and success in supporting this market segment, it was incredibly rewarding to connect with leaders who are driving care forward in their communities. Events like this reinforce the importance of partnership and tailored solutions in rural healthcare.

Konica Minolta Healthcare is looking forward to continuing these conversations and expanding our impact in the rural healthcare space.
