WVU Medicine Weirton Medical Center recently celebrated our local EMS professionals for their unwavering commitment to helping others every day.

In observance of National EMS Week, our team welcomed emergency personnel from across the region for lunch and special guest speakers, creating an opportunity to relax, connect, and be recognized for the vital role they play in our communities.

EMS professionals are often the first to respond in times of crisis, providing expert care, compassion, and reassurance when it matters most. We are grateful for their dedication, sacrifice, and partnership in delivering exceptional care to those we serve.

Thank you to all EMS providers for your service and commitment to keeping our communities safe and healthy. 🚑

Members of the WVU Medicine Weirton Medical Center Labor and Delivery team recently spent the day connecting with new and expectant parents at the Brooke County Baby Shower. Organized by the Brooke County Partners in Prevention, the event was held at the Brooke County Public Library and was a big success.
We were proud to share must-have items for growing families, including diaper bags and essential baby care products such as diapers, wipes, lotions, and more.
Representing our team were Dakota Collins and Brooke Powley, who enjoyed meeting community members and providing resources for parents preparing to welcome a new baby.
Our team looks forward to continuing this outreach by participating in upcoming baby shower in Hancock County and supporting families throughout our region.

Thank you to the Rotary Club of Weirton Heights for the warm welcome of our neurologist Dr. Shahvaiz Magsi.

We appreciate the opportunity to connect with our community and share important insights on neurological health. 🧠

This morning we had the insightful pleasure to hear from Dr. Shahvaiz Magsi, Neurologist at WVU Medicine WMC.
Dr Magsi specializes in strokes, migraines, seizures, and dimentia among others. Some of the information learned today included the acronym BEFAST for identifying strokes, different types of headaches and migraines, and the “normal everyday forgetfulness” versus dimentia.
Did you know the human brain only weighs 3.3 pounds?
