When I started my Home Birth practice, my mom asked me what she could do to support me.
That is her work.

Moussolou means “women.” In this deeply moving tribute, Salif honors the strength, sacrifice, patience, and resilience of women — especially mothers. He reflects on the woman who nurtures us, raises us, teaches us, and helps shape the people we become.

And there is something especially powerful about this song when we think about womanhood and birth.
I witness women discovering strength they didn’t know they possessed. I witness mothers becoming transformed through birth. I witness the ancient connection between a woman, her body, her baby, her mother, and the village surrounding her.

Moussolou reminds us to honor the woman.

Not only when she becomes a mother.
Not only when she gives birth.
But throughout every season of her life.

👶🏾👶🏾 TWICE THE LOVE. TWICE THE TEAM.

Twin pregnancy is a beautiful journey, but it also deserves thoughtful, collaborative care. From midwives and OB/GYNs to maternal-fetal medicine specialists, ultrasound teams, pediatric providers, and lactation support—each member brings an important piece to the table.

For me, collaborative care means knowing when to consult, when to refer, and when to work together so that mom and both babies receive the safest, most individualized care possible. 🤝🏾

I am so glad to be supporting this twin Mom in her choice of care in helping on building the right village around her. Today I got to meet her care team with Maternal Fetal Medicine and discuss her plan of care.

There is something so special about the final six-week postpartum home visit. 🧡

Today, I had the joy of visiting another beautiful growing family, reflecting on how much has changed in just six weeks.
Being welcomed into the lives of such a wonderful big family is one of the greatest privileges of being a midwife. Thank you for trusting me to walk alongside you through pregnancy, birth, and these precious first weeks. It has been an honor.
I will be missing our lovely conversations.
