“Is my baby gaining enough weight?”

If you’ve ever found yourself weighing diapers, staring at the clock, obsessing over every feeding, or Googling at 2 a.m., you’re not alone.

One of the most common concerns I hear from parents is:
“How do I know my baby is getting enough milk?”

While weight gain is one important piece of the puzzle, it’s not the only thing we look at.

Some signs your baby may be feeding well include:
✔️ Regular wet and dirty diapers
✔️ Hearing swallows during feeds
✔️ Meeting weight gain expectations
✔️ Appearing satisfied after many feeds
✔️ Growing and developing appropriately

That’s where a lactation consultation can help. During a feeding assessment and weighted feed, we can often get a much clearer picture of how breastfeeding is going and whether your baby is transferring milk effectively.

You shouldn’t have to spend your postpartum days wondering if your baby is getting enough.

Confidence is possible—and it starts with having the right information. 💚

🤱 A deeper latch can make a world of difference.

If breastfeeding is painful, your ni***es look pinched or lipstick-shaped after feeds, or your baby keeps slipping off the breast, a shallow latch could be part of the problem.

One of the most common things I help families with is improving latch. Sometimes a few small adjustments in positioning and how baby comes onto the breast can lead to:
✔️ Less ni**le pain
✔️ Better milk transfer
✔️ More effective feedings
✔️ A happier feeding experience for both mom and baby

Remember: breastfeeding should feel like a gentle tug—not pinching, cracking, or toe-curling pain.

If you’re struggling, don’t suffer through it. Support is available, and often the solution is simpler than you think. 💚

Have you ever been told your baby has a shallow latch? Let me know below!

“Are you nervous about seeing a lactation consultant?

Honestly, I get it.

You’ve just had a baby. You’re running on very little sleep. Your house may not look the way you’d like it to. Maybe breastfeeding isn’t going how you hoped, and you’re feeling frustrated, overwhelmed, or even a little embarrassed.

And now you’re supposed to invite a complete stranger into your home?

I want you to know something…

I am not coming to judge you.

I’m not judging the dishes in your sink.
I’m not judging the laundry on your couch.
I’m not judging whether you’re exclusively breastfeeding, supplementing with formula, pumping around the clock, or doing a combination of everything.

My job is simply to meet you where you are.

Whether your goal is exclusive breastfeeding, mixed feeding, exclusive pumping, increasing supply, reducing pumping, or just making feeding your baby feel easier, I’m here to support YOUR goals.

When I walk into your home, I want you to feel comfortable, supported, and confident. We work together to figure out what’s going on and create a plan that feels realistic for your family.

Because feeding your baby shouldn’t feel like something you have to figure out alone.

And I promise, I’ve never once cared about the mess. I’ve only cared about the mom and baby in front of me ❤️

Do I need to pump after every breastfeeding session?

The answer is: not necessarily.

One of the biggest misconceptions I see is that every breastfeeding mom needs to nurse, pump, wash pump parts, and repeat all day long. That’s exhausting—and for many families, it’s completely unnecessary.

Pumping after feeds may be recommended if:
✔️ Baby isn’t transferring milk well
✔️ Baby needs supplementation
✔️ You’re working to increase milk supply
✔️ You’re trying to build a freezer stash

But if your baby is gaining weight well, feeding effectively, and breastfeeding is going smoothly, pumping after every feed may not be needed and can even contribute to oversupply issues.

Every breastfeeding journey is different. The “right” pumping plan depends on your baby’s feeding, your milk supply, and your goals.

Have you ever wondered if you’re pumping too much, not enough, or at the wrong times? Let me know in the comments! 👇

I didn’t just study this—I lived it.

I breastfed all 3 of my babies for years, and there were so many moments where I questioned everything.

The hard nights.
The cluster feeding.
The “is this normal?” spiral.

That’s why I do what I do now.

If you're in it right now—
you’re not doing anything wrong, and you don’t have to figure it out alone 🤍

Reach out with any questions!

A few weeks ago, feeding felt stressful, exhausting, and uncertain for this family.

Low milk supply.
Tongue tie.
Poor transfer.

But instead of guessing—we made a plan.

And today?
✨ Baby transferred 3 oz at the breast
✨ Mom’s supply has increased
✨ Feeding is finally feeling easier

THIS is why support matters.

If you’re in the thick of it right now—things can get better 🤍
