This family came to us with concerns about Maxwell’s sleep, a significant overbite, a narrow upper jaw, and difficulty comfortably closing his lips over his teeth.
When the lips don’t naturally come together, known as lip incompetence, it can make it more difficult to achieve a proper oral seal and encourage healthy nasal breathing.
We started Maxwell’s treatment with a palatal expander to truly expand his upper jaw and create more room. From there, we transitioned to aligners for just 7 months, along with rubber bands to help improve his overbite and alignment.
