New six week programming starts this week so the coaches met yesterday to go over all the movements and discuss the best ways to adjust for each of our members.

I always enjoy looking out at the room when we finish because to some it may look like a mess, but for us it’s a playground of learning and trying to new things for all different bodies and abilities!

Day 4 of my Rebirthing Breath Work Training completed.

I’ve been cocooned within the yoga room these past few days and it has made me love this room even more!

One more day online and then more training in July in California!

If you’ve driven by in the last day you’ve seen “us”working up on the roof.

This building has been here for over 250 years and each time we update and change it, I am reminded to reflect and honor all that has come before us.💗

It has been beautiful weather in upstate NY so I hope you’ve been enjoying your outside projects and time as well.

And if you find yourself sore or in need of some stretching after those projects we have yoga/stretch classes for you!!

So I’ve been told by a few people to talk about a day in the life of me. This makes me laugh as my life is quite simple and uneventful, and I LOVE it this way!
-
But it did get me thinking about what I do that may be a little different (or maybe not!).
-
For YEARS I sit down the night before work and put together my schedule hour by hour on the left of a post-it note and on the right I put what I have to do to be ready for the next day. I add on the bottom right anything that needs to get done soon, but is not required in the next 2 days.
-
This practice makes sure I’m ready and prepared for each class/client and that I don’t miss practices, meets, events, etc. AND that I get my training time in somewhere. It’s so easy for me to get cleaning or organizing at the gym and then my time to train is gone!
-
This list keeps it simple AND the best part…I get to scratch out/check off when I’ve completed it giving me a dopamine hit each time!
-
I have my weekly/daily calendar to reference as needed, but this little slip reminds me to stop at Aldi’s to get fruit for dinner. Or reminds me when to pick up my kid from practice (before she could drive).
-
So I have stacks of post-it notes and I keep 2 with me at all times. Simple. Nothing fancy. But it’s kept me organized and ready each day. AND it is go great to rip up each night when completed. The list is done and now it’s time to relax and enjoy my home life💗

Sound like you? You may not be a former college athlete, but have found yourself doing the same?
-athlete.therapist popped into my feed a few weeks back and many of her posts have resonated!
-
I spent most of my teen years and into my early 30’s training and disconnecting from myself to train harder, lift more, row faster, etc!
-
And I’ve certainly read my fair share of “health” books!
-
I have been in this industry for several decades so I have tried most diets, fitness routines, trainings, fasting, etc.
-
I actually REALLY enjoy learning about it all and really don’t tire of it…
-
AND there is a time to feel…to pause…to check in with yourself and see if what you’re doing is serving you.
-
I currently work full time within my gym and yoga studio, and program for group and private clients daily. As much as I focus on strength and conditioning within the programming, I am equally passionate about the mental and emotional value of coming to class or for a private session.
-
So yes, enjoy your run. Enjoy your lifting, enjoy reading your self help books…but make sure to check in with yourself and ask whether it’s really serving you. Does it feel good (physically and mentally) and does it lead you in the direction you want to go?

Just one member encouraging another during class.

It was quite funny to watch from afar as the principal came out in Kristin as she asked Christine “Are you rushing?” and told her to “Take your time” 😉
-
As much as they are laughing and teasing together, this was Christine’s first time lifting and holding on the rings!
-
It’s these moments of laughter, friendship, and growth that remind me this is what it’s all about!
