Welcome to Reno!
-
I spent the day yesterday traveling out west for my breath course that starts tonight!
-
I was up for 22 hours and because my body and mind are still on East Coast time I slept for 3 hours and woke ready to start the day at 2am!
-
Today is a quiet day allowing me to pause before class begins tonight so I’ve taken the time to practice what I preach!
-
I made it to the hotel gym. Thankfully no one else came in because it felt small with only me!
-
I did a simple workout in the small corner of the gym with just 3 sets of dumbbells.
-
Nothing special just 3 upper movements (Alt. OH press, hammer curls, & bent over flies) and 3 lower movement (OH hold marches, Horse stance hold, & wt’d reverse lunges).
-
I woke with puffy eyes and definitely could tell I needed water so the goal was to listen and get my body moving and blood flowing after all the travel.
-
I made sure to hydrate to catch up from yesterday and I took some time for a little lymphatic self-massage to help with the puffiness.
-
We’re off to Whole Foods to get our meals for the week and the mind and body are feeling ready!
-
I share this because we’re flooded these days with the best way to do this, the best way to do that…and for most of us it’s the low hanging fruit of slowing down, taking time for ourselves, and listening to what our bodies need. (And yes, I know I’m saying this while away from all my work and home responsibilities so it’s much easier to listen right now.)
-
So if you’ve read this far (thank you!). And I ask: if you took a moment to listen to your body what is one thing you can add (or take away) to help feel better today?
-
And on a side note: classes are running as usual. I am very grateful all the the coaches and yoga teachers are taking care of everything while I’m away. So make sure to sign up and get yourself into class if you’re home!
