We love it when volunteers share "passion projects" in our day programs! Starkey parent Joyce Gildemeister spent time this week in the Life Enrichment Program teaching individuals how to make chocolate Oreo cream cheese cupcakes. In the past, we've also had volunteers teach us how to play pickleball and do leather work. If you have a passion or hobby to share, contact Eileen Ream, Development Coordinator.

Individuals in Starkey's day programs have a number of on-campus paid jobs they can choose to do, like delivering mail at our program and office buildings. For the employees receiving deliveries on the "daily mail route," it is one of the highlights of the day saying a quick hello to these conscientious workers.

Our community partners at PRo Kansas Miller Recycling Center take all of the recycling generated on our main campus, and the individuals at Starkey gather and drop it off as one of their paid jobs. Win-win! Cardboard, plastic, paper, aluminum - we gather it all. (And our electronics recycling program is free and open to the public.) ♻️
