I am deeply honored and grateful to receive the KORA Tourism and Art Award for Excellence in Cultural Gastronomy Experiences and the Certificate of Excellence as one of the Gambian Women Leaders of the Year which was the 9th of May at Paradise Hotel organised by Sunu Reew Medical Mission.

My heartfelt thanks goes to the organizers of the KORA Tourism and Art Award for this meaningful recognition and for celebrating the work of women.

Through Yabouy Home Cooking, my mission has always been to preserve my culture by promoting sustainable tourism. I remain committed to showcasing the beauty, richness, and authenticity of The Gambia.

It is in our voices, our rhythms, our traditions, and in the everyday strength of our people who continue to rise no matter the challenges. Across borders and generations, we are connected by heritage, hope, and a shared identity that feels deeply personal.

At Sunu Reew Medical Mission, Africa Day is not just a celebration we observe, it is one we feel. It reminds us of the communities we serve, the lives we touch, and the shared responsibility we carry to care, uplift, and heal.

This evening, we conducted our official close out meeting for our 5th Annual Medical Mission and all we can say is "Thank you!"

This year surpassed our expectations but was a result of the intentional and diligent efforts of our founder, internal organizing team, partners, sponsors and of course - our 2026 cohort!

While this chapter has come to an end, we still have a lot of exciting announcements, feedback, and heart-warming memories to share.
