Sometimes “I’m just bad at making decisions” is actually:
What will they think?
Will they be disappointed?
Is this selfish?
What would make everyone else happy?
When you’ve spent years reading the room, keeping the peace, or being the “good daughter,” it can become second nature to check in with everyone else before checking in with yourself.
So of course making decisions feels hard. You’re not just deciding what you want—you’re mentally calculating everyone else’s potential reaction.
A little practice for today: before asking “What should I do?” try asking “What do I actually want?”
You don’t have to act on the answer immediately. Just practice hearing your own voice again. ✨
