Have you ever shared all of your medical details with the nurse, but then when the doctor walks in, told them you’re “fine”?
No judgment, we’ve all done it. But your doctor isn’t handing out gold stars for being low maintenance; they’re trying to actually help you.
Tell them the messy truth. They’ve heard worse. I promise they can handle it.

Learning so much in the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction course at Duke, built on Jon Kabat-Zinn’s original program.
Here’s why this matters beyond the personal: chronic overwhelm isn’t just a feeling, it’s physiological. A nervous system stuck in fight-or-flight affects cortisol, sleep, even blood pressure.
A lot of the work I do with clients isn’t just logistics and appointments. It’s helping their body get calm enough to think clearly again. This course is helping me bring even more of that into my work.

How old were you when you were first told it was anxiety, but you knew something else was going on?
Sometimes it is anxiety. And, sometimes it’s just the easiest box to check, especially if you’re a woman in a rushed office visit.
I remember mine vividly. I was 15. We deserve better.
If that moment is still sitting with you, you’re not alone. You deserve a real answer, not just the fastest one. New post on the blog this week.

It’s that time of year-back to school! New teachers, new classmates, new chances for your kid to feel like they don’t fit in.
For some kids, there’s something else going on underneath. Dizzy when they stand up. Wiped out by lunchtime. “Too tired” in ways that don’t quite add up. Sometimes it gets written off as laziness. Sometimes doctors miss it, too.
It’s called POTS (Postural OrthostaticOrthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) a condition that too often gets dismissed for months or years before anyone gets it right. A client’s daughter was just diagnosed, after exactly that kind of long road.
If your kid’s back-to-school season looks a little different this year and you can’t quite explain why, trust that instinct. Keep pushing until someone listens.
I’ll be writing more on this soon. Follow along so you don’t miss it. And if this sounds familiar, drop a 🙋‍♀️ below or send me a DM.

“Advocate for yourself!” Cool, love that. Where does that go on a to-do list that’s already full? 🙃

This isn’t about confidence or ability. It’s a “my plate is already full” thing. New newsletter has the actual phrases to use at your next appointment, not another pep talk.

Saw the “you need to advocate for yourself!” post again this week. Third time. 🙄

Cool. Love that. Also, where exactly is every woman supposed to fit “hospital-grade negotiator” on a to-do list that’s already full?

New newsletter is up: a few concrete tools for what self-advocacy requires (spoiler: not more confidence, just a few better tools), plus a cheat sheet of phrases to steal for your next doctor’s appointment.

I preach appointment prep to every client. Today I took my own advice and remembered why it makes a difference.

Having your questions in front of you changes everything about how an appointment goes.

🎥 Watch to see what I noticed.
