One misstep on the stairs. Two injuries to fix.

When this 43-year-old patient rolled her ankle badly enough to fracture the medial malleolus and tear her lateral ligaments, Dr. Steven Neufeld had a single-surgery plan: stabilize the fracture with OSSIOfiber® 4.5mm Beveled Threaded Trimmable Fixation Nails, then repair the ligaments with OSSIOfiber® suture anchors.

That's why Dr. Uzair Amjad, DPM chose OSSIOfiber® for this calcaneus fracture complicated by osteomyelitis, stabilizing it with two 5.5mm Threaded Trimmable Fixation Nails.

In his words: “Because the implanted fixation is biointegrative, it is expected to gradually integrate over time. Assuming the patient continues to respond appropriately to intravenous antibiotic therapy, I anticipate that the infection will resolve without the need for hardware removal. At this time, I do not expect surgical removal of the implant to be necessary, provided the patient continues to demonstrate appropriate clinical improvement.”
