Summer is literally right around the corner ☀️🌴 — beach days, ice cream, and… sweat patches you didn’t ask for?
Let’s talk about hyperhidrosis — a medical condition that causes excessive sweating beyond what’s needed to cool your body down. It affects about 5% of people worldwide (that’s roughly 365 million of us), yet most people have never heard of it.
The basics:
🧠 It’s not about being out of shape or nervous — it’s overactive sweat glands triggered by your sympathetic nervous system
📍 Two types: focal (specific areas like hands, feet, armpits, face) and generalized (whole body, often tied to another condition)
💡 It’s a recognized medical condition, not just “sweating a lot”
If you’re someone who avoids high-fives, wears dark colors strategically, or has Googled “why do my hands sweat for no reason” — you’re not alone, and there are options out there.
Summer is for everyone. Let’s normalize the conversation 💙
