Yin & Deep Restore is a 75-minute journey into stillness. Long-held, floor-based shapes that target the deep tissues of the body, unwinding the week held in your hips, spine, and shoulders, before easing into a generous, unhurried Savasana.

Students can expect live sound incorporated into the experience and intuitive touch is offered to invite the body into deeper release.

A practice that asks nothing of you except the willingness to let go.

Come as you are. Leave restored. 🙏🏻

At Commune we have a comprehensive offering of yoga classes and teachers.

Each Teacher brings their own unique and embodied Yoga knowledge and lived experience to their classes.

In every class you will experience movement (asana) breath (pranayama) anatomical and energetic instruction as well as yogic philosophy, mantra and devotion.

Commune is a studio that joyfully explores all 8 limbs of Yoga.

You can expect to be welcomed with herbal tea before practice and engaging conversation post.

If you’re after a studio that celebrates all of Yoga and being in community this is the studio for you.

If you’re new to our community we encourage you to explore and experience as many of our teachers and class styles as you can and find what works for you.

✨ WELCOME RACHEL ✨

We are so honoured to announce that Rachel Turnbull is joining the teaching gang at Commune. 🤎

Rachel fell into yoga completely by accident, hated her first class, and somehow found herself practicing multiple times a week soon after.

She is passionate about holding space for anyone, regardless of background or athletic ability, to experience the full spectrum of what yoga has to offer.

Although she definitely loves a spicy flow, you can also expect Rachel’s classes to be rich with mythology, philosophy and storytelling, taking not just the body but also the mind on a journey from first breath to final Om.

You can practise with Rachel at Commune every Sunday. 🙏🏻

We are so excited to announce that one of our favourite teachers, the one and only Uma, is back with permanent classes on the schedule at Commune. 🤎

Alternating Saturdays

For almost 20 years Uma has been passionately committed to the path of Yoga. Her unique approach to sharing & learning is both deeply joyful and transformational.

Through playful sequencing and a colourful variety of styles, she skilfully translates the ancient to the modern, cultivating a welcoming & inclusive space for all.

Having studied in a traditional Ashram in India, she brings focus to sharing with respect, always honouring the roots of Yoga. She is known for her love & knowledge of Tantrik Shaivite & Shakta Philosophy & Mythology, weaving stories into the embodied practises of breathwork (pranayama) and moving meditation, taking practitioners beyond the asana.

Yin & Live Sound combines the restorative practice of Yin Yoga with live sound immersion.

You will be guided by Lucy through a series of gentle Yin Yoga poses to release tension and promote relaxation, while Max generates live soundscapes to enhance the meditative experience.

This class is suitable for all levels.

✨ NEW MOON + ECLIPSE SOUND BATH ✨
🌈 WITH IKSRE 🌈

This Thursday, for the first time in our new studio.

A new moon eclipse is a rare portal for release and renewal. The perfect night to lie back, let go, and set intentions for what you’re calling in.

A Sound Bath is a way to switch off from the stresses of the outside world, go inward and experience deep rest and relaxation without needing to do anything. You just lie down, close your eyes and allow the sound of singing bowls, gongs, chimes, drums and voice wash over you and allow you to tap into the Parasympathetic Nervous System, responsible for deep rest, and healing.

Investment: $40 for members ($45 non members)

I would like to thank all of our students who’ve made it to the mat this week and helped to make our new space feel like home.

I feel so grateful for all the positive energy and pure intention that our community has brought with us.

I can’t wait to continue to make memories and share our practice here.
