After almost 3 years in Melbourne, I’ve accepted that AFL is less of a sport and more of a citizenship test.

Be honest… how many of you are doing the exact same thing? 😂

FINALIST! ✨

I’m incredibly grateful to share that I have been selected as a finalist for Victoria’s Community Pharmacist of the Year 2027.

As someone who came to Australia as a refugee and built a career in community pharmacy, moments like this never feel ordinary.

This recognition belongs to so many people.

To my patients who trust me with their care.
To my team who show up every day with heart and dedication.
To my family and friends who have supported me through every challenge and every milestone.
And to the wider community that continues to inspire me to do more.

A sincere thank you to The Pharmacy Guild of Australia for recognising the impact community pharmacists make every day.

I am proud, humbled, and excited for what comes next.

Sara ❤️

Most patients won’t remember every piece of advice you give them.

But they’ll remember how you made them feel.

Rule #1 of my Patient Engagement Series: Make patients feel seen before you make them feel informed.

In a world focused on speed, scripts, and efficiency, never underestimate the power of eye contact, active listening, and genuine human connection.

Trust isn’t built when we start talking.
Trust is built when patients feel heard.

Whether you’re a pharmacy student, an early career pharmacist, or a seasoned healthcare professional, this one principle can transform every patient interaction.

What do you think is the most important part of building trust with patients?

Episode 2 drops next Tuesday, where we’ll explore why speaking like a human, not a textbook, is one of the most underrated skills in healthcare.
