🦺 222 Australian workers didn't make it home from work in 2025.

That's the highest number of workplace fatalities recorded since 2012, according to Safe Work Australia's latest Key Work Health and Safety Statistics Australia 2026 report.

The leading causes of workplace fatalities were:

🚗 Vehicle incidents - 92 lives lost
🏗️ Falls from height - 28 lives lost
⚠️ Being hit by falling objects - 21 lives lost

And during the 2024–25 financial year, Australia recorded approximately 147,200 serious workers' compensation claims.

That's more than 400 serious claims every single day.

Behind these statistics are people, families, colleagues and communities whose lives have been changed.

And many of the risks involved are found in everyday work activities - driving vehicles, operating machinery, working at heights and moving equipment around worksites.

From remote worksites and unsealed roads to steep terrain and unexpected obstacles, driving a 4WD for work requires more than just knowing how to engage four-wheel drive.

Our nationally recognised 4WD Skill Set is designed to give workers the practical skills and confidence to operate safely in real-world conditions.

The course includes three units of competency:

✅ RIIVEH305F – Operate and maintain a four wheel drive vehicle
✅ RIIVEH201E – Operate light vehicle
✅ PMASUP236 – Operate vehicles in the field

🚙 What does the training cover?

Delivered over one (large) day, participants get hands-on experience with:

✔️ Vehicle inspections and pre-start checks
✔️ Navigating steep inclines and declines
✔️ Driving through washouts and challenging terrain
✔️ Operating on unsealed roads
✔️ Recovering a bogged vehicle

Our TC1 & TMI1 Combined Course brings both skill sets together in one training program, helping workers develop the skills required to control traffic and implement traffic management plans on Category 1 roads.

The course includes two nationally recognised skill sets:
