It might seem like a little thing — can your baby look comfortably both ways?

But those tiny movements are building blocks for feeding, tummy time, rolling and all the milestones still to come.

When I check your kiddo, I’m not just looking at where they might be restricted. I’m looking at how their little body is moving, growing and developing as a whole.

Tiny movements. Big milestones.

Your pelvic floor shouldn’t be the reason you have to sit something out.

Leaking, heaviness, pressure, pain or other pelvic floor symptoms can make you feel like you need to avoid certain activities — but that doesn’t have to be the case.

Pelvic floor physiotherapy is about helping you feel strong, supported and confident doing the things that make you feel like you.

Run. Lift. Play. Dance. Laugh. Live.

If pelvic floor symptoms are getting in the way of the life you want to live, our pelvic floor physiotherapists are here to help. Book an assessment and let’s get you back to doing more of what you love.

Transitioning out of summer mode and back into your usual routine?

Between more time sitting, busy schedules and getting back into your regular workouts, your body is adjusting too.

A few simple reminders:
• Move often throughout your day
• Ease back into your workouts
• Prioritize sleep + recovery
• Give yourself time to adjust to your new routine

And if your body is feeling a little stiff or restricted along the way, chiropractic care can help support healthy joint movement as you get back into your routine.

Back to routine doesn’t have to mean going from 0–100. Give your body time and support as you adjust.

Season One Rewind | Part 4

Last time, we celebrated some of the incredible voices from beyond our clinic walls. This time, we’re bringing the conversation home.

Throughout Season One, the Healthy Families podcast gave members of our own team the opportunity to sit down, share their expertise and explore the topics they’re passionate about—from family wellness, pregnancy and postpartum care to pelvic health, movement, stress, resilience and so much more.

And at the heart of it all is Dr. Lindsay. As the founder of Healthy Families and host of the podcast, she guided so many of these conversations while also stepping behind the mic on her own to share more than 20 years of experience, her approach to wellness, and the values that have shaped Healthy Families from the very beginning.

We’re incredibly proud of the knowledge, experience and heart that exists within this team—and even more grateful that we get to share a little bit of it beyond the walls of our clinic.

Whether you’re looking to support your overall wellness, navigate pregnancy or postpartum, better understand your body, or simply learn something new, there’s an episode for you.

Which Healthy Families conversation has stuck with you the most?

Crawling is more than just a way your baby gets around, it is an important step in their development.

The cross-body movements in crawling help to build connections between the right and left halves of the brain, and helps your baby develop coordination and core muscle strength.

Crawling usually occurs between 6-10 months of age, but the more important thing is the order that movement happens in. We want babies to roll, then sit, then crawl, then walk. And NOT skip steps!

Lots of tummy time, limiting time in containers, and giving your baby floor time on a surface that isn’t too slippery all set your baby up for success.

If your kiddo is moving in a way that doesn’t look like typical crawling: bum scooting, army crawling, pushing off with their toes, crawling with only one leg, or skipping this step completely, it’s a great time to get them checked by a pediatric chiropractor.

What do we wish more people knew?

We asked our chiropractors this question, and their answers covered a little bit of everything—from the importance of movement and understanding your nervous system to breastfeeding support and healthy growth and development in kids.

Different answers, but one thing they all have in common: helping you better understand your body and the many ways you can support your health at every stage of life.

Take a listen to hear what they had to say!

What’s something you wish you had learned about your health sooner?

If pelvic floor physios had a dance routine… this would probably be it. 😂

Because your pelvic floor doesn’t work in isolation — hips, core, balance and whole-body strength all matter.

Season One Rewind | Part 3

Some of the best conversations extend far beyond our clinic walls.

Throughout Season One, Dr. Lindsay had the opportunity to sit down with some incredible women from within our community—each bringing their own knowledge, experiences and perspective to the conversation.

From self-care, movement and pregnancy support to entrepreneurship, motherhood, the mental load of parenting and redefining what success can look like, these conversations reminded us just how much we can learn from one another.

A huge thank you to Vhalle Hohn, Sarah Park & Mary Mitton of Alta Physio, Ashley Herrera, Amy Kadziolka of BetterDay Food Co., and Emily Bishop for pulling up a chair and sharing a little piece of yourselves with our Healthy Families community.

If there’s an episode here you haven’t heard yet, consider this your sign to add it to your listening list!

And stay tuned for Part 4, when we’ll bring things back inside our clinic walls and revisit some of the conversations with our very own Healthy Families practitioners.

The postpartum season asks a lot of moms.

Your body is recovering from pregnancy and birth while learning entirely new movements and routines. Feeding your baby, rocking them to sleep, carrying a car seat, and eventually lifting them in and out of the crib... it’s a beautiful season, and it’s physically demanding.

It’s common to notice your neck, shoulders, back or wrists feeling tired and achy, but it doesn’t have to feel like this. These are common musculoskeletal complaints during the postpartum period, particularly with the repetitive positions that come with caring for a newborn.

Here’s what I want every new mom to hear:

You don’t have to wait until you’re in significant pain to take care of yourself.

Just like we prioritize caring for your baby’s growing nervous system, your body deserves support, too.
Whether that’s changing your feeding position and posture, healing your core, seeing a lactation consultant, getting outside for a walk, or receiving chiropractic care to help restore comfort and nervous system regulation— all of these small investments in your health can make a big difference in how you feel.
