Dr. Bussière is a Neurologist based in Edmonton, Alberta, and serves as an Associate Clinical Professor in the Division of Neurology at the University of Alberta. His practice encompasses all aspects of general adult neurology, with particular expertise in neurovascular disorders and migraine management.

Through Alethea, Dr. Bussière will be providing Neurology eConsults, helping Family Physicians and Nurse Practitioners access timely specialist advice for a wide range of neurological concerns.

Meet Eloïse Aubin-Ferrier — the first NP in our monthly Spotlight series.

Eloïse is a bilingual nurse practitioner with 16 years of nursing experience, practicing community dermatology with Dr. Andrew Ferrier at Stratica Medical in Edmonton, where she's also Clinical Trials Manager. Her focus: acne, inflammatory skin disorders, skin cancer screening, and minor procedures.

She uses Alethea for the cases that fall just outside her comfort zone — abnormal ECGs, ENT findings, plastics questions — and shared what other NPs should know about working with specialists in real time.

LyfeMD + Alethea: making evidence-based IBS care easier to refer.

LyfeMD is a Canadian virtual clinic, co-founded by a gastroenterologist, delivering clinician-led care for patients with IBS. Through 1-on-1 virtual sessions with registered dietitians and health coaches, patients access low-FODMAP and medical nutrition therapy, gut-brain support (CBT, mindfulness, gut-focused hypnotherapy), and the 12-week IBS Mastery Program.

Alethea users can now refer to LyfeMD’s IBS services directly through the platform.

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Kelvin Leung to Alethea as a Nephrology consultant.

Dr. Leung completed his medical degree at the University of Alberta, followed by Internal Medicine training at the University of Manitoba and subspecialty training in Adult Nephrology at the University of Calgary. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada and also holds a Master of Medical Science focused on dialysis physiology.

Currently practicing across all four adult hospitals in Calgary, Dr. Leung is actively involved in resident education and nephrology training. Through Alethea, he is available to support primary care providers with guidance across a broad range of nephrology-related concerns and kidney disease management. We’re excited to welcome Dr. Leung to the growing Alethea specialist network!

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Almuez Abdukadr to Alethea as an Internal Medicine consultant.

Based in Edmonton, Dr. Abdukadr completed his Core Internal Medicine residency training at the University of Alberta and brings more than 12 years of community-based practice experience managing a wide range of complex medical conditions.

With a special interest in endocrine disease, Dr. Abdukadr is available to support primary care providers with diagnostic clarification, chronic disease management, and practical internal medicine guidance to help streamline patient care and decision-making.

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Caleb Zavitz to Alethea as a Vascular Surgery consultant.

Dr. Zavitz brings a unique combination of clinical, academic, and research expertise to the platform, with advanced training spanning molecular pathology, vascular surgery, and cardiovascular diagnostics. He currently serves as an attending vascular surgeon at Peter Lougheed Hospital and Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Calgary, where he also holds key leadership roles in surgical education.

His practice includes all aspects of vascular and endovascular surgery, and through Alethea, he will support primary care providers with timely specialist guidance for vascular-related concerns and management questions.

We are excited to welcome Dr. Zavitz to the network and look forward to the expertise he will bring to providers and patients across the platform.
