Lark & Raven Wellness Centre

Lark & Raven Wellness Centre A Centre for Grief, Bereavement, and End of Life Care The lark is a symbol of joy and hope. They are the songbirds that call us home in the morning.

This wellness centre began in Calgary, Alberta, Canada (Moh’kinsstis) to offer people groups, services, and resources that attend to the need for grief and end of life care. Lark and Raven Wellness Centre is a private practice that also collaborates with other working professionals to offer a wide range of care services. They are our symbol for rebirth and the start of the day. The raven is the sy

mbol of death and the night. They are full of wisdom and protection in our darkest hours. They guide us on our journeys.

We are excited to welcome Dr Holly Prince, Anishinaabekwe educator and leader in Indigenous palliative care, as our guest for our upcoming free webinar, There Is Medicine in Diversity: Creating Spaces and Places to Honour Indigenous Knowledges in Palliative Care.

Holly has spent years supporting Indigenous communities and helping care teams understand how history, identity, and connection to land influence care experiences. This session will explore how Indigenous knowledges can guide more respectful, meaningful, and culturally grounded palliative care.

This conversation is designed for PSWs, nurses, and care teams across long term care, home care, and hospice who want to deepen their understanding and strengthen culturally safer care.

Check out our newest tipsheet: Supporting Children & Teens Through Funerals and Memorial Services.
As adults, most of us have been to a funeral or memorial service before, but for your child or teen, this might be their very first time. It’s natural to have a lot of questions about whether they should go and how they can be involved. We hope this Tip Sheet helps answer some of those questions and gives you a few ideas for how to support them as they find their own way to honor the person who died.

We offer services for all ages, individuals, couples and families.
We are located near chinook mall in Calgary and are pretty central to Calgary.

Just to highlight some of our offerings:
- individual counselling for all ages and for all forms of grief or life transitions. Myla is particularly passionate about working with seniors. https://www.larkandravenwellness.com/our-team
- We also support families going through or considering MAiD
- We will have a practicum student joining us late fall and winter, so stay tuned for low to no cost grief counselling around that time.

- Education: I have created an introduction grief counselling course for practitioners: https://larkandravenwellness.learnworlds.com/

- We can do company workshops and education on grief and grief counselling. We also offer company grief group counselling https://www.larkandravenwellness.com/workshops

- Our groups will hopefully be able to be run in the fall again but we are fundraising for these at this time. Groups we see a need for are a su***de loss group, spousal loss, and a general grief support group.

- Our art fundraiser with all one of a kind, human made art can be found here: https://lark-and-raven-wellness-inc.square.site/

- We also have a new service of grief counselling in home for compassionate estate cleaning. Read more here: https://www.larkandravenwellness.com/post/when-possessions-hold-memories-grief-support-during-estate

- There is also a podcast to check out here: https://www.larkandravenwellness.com/podcast

We are on instagram and Facebook too so follow us as we post these offerings and resources semi frequently.

One of our main goals is to create a grief hub to find specialized support for grief specifically. We are collecting resources and information to pass on to anyone needing to find support in Alberta. We will do our best to source out support where we can find it!

Gently into the Night is a podcast with interviews with professionals on various topics about death and dying.
