Peppermint Essential Oil:
Well known for its menthol content, Peppermint Essential Oil delivers an instant cooling effect that you can feel within seconds.
It is a phenomenal option in a mist for a fast, effective and refreshing cooling effect!
Peppermint oil should never be applied directly to the skin, and is not safe to use on pets or reccomended for children.
Eucalyptus Essential Oil:
With a strong crisp smell, Eucalyptus is wonderful for opening the airways and fighting the fatigue that can occur when it's hot out.
When properly diluted (1% to 1.5%) it can be applied to the scalp which can provide refreshment after sun-exposure.
Eucalyptus Essential Oil should not be applied directly to the skin & is not safe to use on pets.
Spearmint Essential Oil:
A safer more mild relative of Peppermint, Spearmint is a wonderful option for those with sensitive sking & kids who would still like the cooling aspect mint tends to provide.
Spearmint is wonderful in a mist, sprayed in the back & neck. It is also pleasant in a diffuser!
Spearmint Essential Oil should never be applied directly to the skin.
Lavender Essential Oil:
Lavender, while it does not directly provide a cooling effect, is wonderful for sun-exposed skin as an "after-sun" treatment.
Lavender is wonderful when mixed in with carrier oils or aloe gel.
Lavender Essential Oil should always be diluted before applying to your skin. Keep away from cats as it is extremely toxic to them!
Lemon Essential Oil:
Lemon is another Oil that does not provide a direct "cooling effect", but it is extremely uplifting & helps fight the fatigue hot weather can have us feeling.
Lemon Essential Oil is phenomenal in a mist or in a diffuser.
Lemon Essential Oil should never be directly applied to the skin & should not be used topically prior to sun exposure.
Geranium Essential Oil:
Did you know that Geranium supports sweat regulation? Not just that, it has a wonderful floral scent and a gentle cooling effect.
