Erin Mielzynski learned why I asked her, “Can you run FAST, hold a 🤳, and get a dash-cam view of 🚀 Elise?” 😂

Good thing Erin is a 5-time Olympian and has LOTS of experience on the track! 🏃‍♀️💨

Swipe RIGHT 👉 to see what I get my UCalgary Kinesiology students to do as part of their practicum…

Erin and I are SOOO proud of Elise and all her hard work to get back on the track!!! 💪💪

Great session with Murad Zaamout with Murad Zaamout - Player Development Coach showcasing how you can integrate rehab with on-ice performance training. 🏒💪

The goal: rehab the right way, optimize movement, improve athletic resiliency & durability, and build performance on the ice.
Will share highlights from our session 🔜

“An injury is not just a process of recovery, it is a process of discovery…”

As tough as an injury can be physically, mentally, and emotionally, it can also become an opportunity—to address weaknesses, improve durability and capacity, and come back stronger. 💪

I’ve worked with athletes who, in the year leading into and during an Olympic year, broke bones, tore muscles, faced major setbacks… and still came back to set PBs and win gold medals.🥇

Setbacks don’t always define the outcome. Sometimes they become part of the story.

Happy Olympic Day!!!
Little did this 7-year-old, Olympic-obsessed boy—who dreamed of one day competing and representing Canada at the Olympic Games—know that one day he would have the opportunity to attend three Olympic Games as part of Canadian Olympic Team’s medical team.

Over my career as a physiotherapist, I’ve had the privilege of working with hundreds of Olympians, including 23 athletes who have gone on to win 37 Olympic medals.

More importantly, I’ve had a front-row seat to see what it truly takes to become an Olympian: effort, focus, determination, resilience, and years of hard work.

I feel incredibly fortunate that over the last 19 years, I’ve been able to support so many athletes on their journeys to the Olympic Games. I continue to be inspired and amazed by their passion, commitment, and pursuit of excellence.

Happy Olympic Day to all the athletes chasing BIG dreams — and to all the people supporting them along the way.

I was very fortunate to have Erin Mielzynski as my practicum student over the past six weeks and genuinely enjoyed working in partnership with her.

Beyond the impact she made at Movement Sports Clinic, the pool, the field, and the track, I also learned a great deal through our collaboration as we worked to provide the highest level of care possible for our patients and athletes. 💪

Our partnership was built on communication, collaboration, and always keeping our athletes’ best interests at the center of every decision.

Through multiple phone calls, Zoom meetings, and hundreds of texts back and forth, we consistently worked to ensure we were prepared and delivering our best for every athlete we had the opportunity to support.

Even as a student, Erin demonstrates all the qualities needed to be highly successful in the performance and healthcare field. She has a very bright future ahead of her, and I’m excited to see all that she accomplishes 💫
