June is Aphasia Awareness Month 💚

Aphasia is a communication disorder that can affect a person’s ability to speak, understand, read, and write. It can happen after a stroke, brain injury, or other neurological conditions.

People with aphasia still have thoughts, ideas, and stories to share—they may just need extra time and support to communicate them.

This month, we’re helping spread awareness, encourage understanding, and remind our community that patience and inclusion can make a meaningful difference. 💚

Today is Global Accessibility Awareness Day ♿️

Accessibility isn’t just about ramps and elevators — it’s about creating spaces where everyone can communicate, participate, and feel included. From AAC devices and captions to sensory-friendly spaces and inclusive design, accessibility helps make the world more equitable for all.

Let’s continue learning, advocating, and building communities where every voice is heard 💙

This post highlights different types of AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), including sign language, picture communication, speech-generating devices, eye gaze systems, and more. AAC helps support communication, connection, independence, and self-expression for many individuals.

Everyone deserves a way to communicate and be understood.
