Ashley Herrera Prenatal Yoga I guide pregnant & postpartum mothers through yoga &movement for a more empowering fulfilling journey

This has been my reminder that not only every pregnancy journey is different, but every postpartum is as well.

Thankfully, I have my supports in place so when my SI joint started to give me nerve pain in Italy. I immediately upped my treatment plan with Kirstyn.

It’s almost like starting from Ground Zero letting go of your ego. Workouts are more slow but my core is feeling much stronger. My mind body connection is more aligned and with each visit there’s noticeable improvement.

If you’re in North Calgary I highly recommend you give Kirstyn a follow and go visit her little sanctuary for physiotherapy treatment.

Pregnancy pain does NOT have to be the norm.

Thoughtful movement and strengthening can get you feeling good instead of counting down the days for pregnancy to be over.

Because mindset plays a huge part in your labour, starting it off in more physical comfort and ease will curate a positive mindset when going through the hard parts of contractions.

I am always so grateful for a review. I know how life can get so busy especially postpartum so the time you took to write about your experience with a class from me makes it even more special to me.

As this mama shared her birth did not go as planned but the tools she learned were impactful and empowering 💫

I know it’s common among providers to refer to Spinning Babies when your baby is breech.

But Spinning Babies Birth Preparation Class is NOT for breech babies!

Fun fact: the company name Spinning Babies is not referring to turning a breech baby it’s referring to the Cardinal Movements that a baby makes to spin out during a vaginal birth!!

This class is great for in your late 2nd trimester all the way up until your due date!!

Upcoming classes offered once a month:
• Sunday Sept 27 | 11 - 2:30 pm
• Wednesday Oct 21 & 28 | 7 - 9 pm (2 parts)
• Sunday Nov 22 | 11 - 2:30 pm
• Sunday Dec 13 | 11 - 2:30 pm

Comment or DM ‘CLASS’ for details!

Pregnant and all you can think about at the end of the day is where you are going to crash for a nap? Or the night? 🤪

I totally get it and if that’s all you have left in the tank you should rest. But if you’re willing to switch it up and move your body for 2 minutes these movements will help your body feel even better.

Motion is lotion and that’s what it needs in the ever changing days.

Save and share with a pregnant friend!

One year ago, I attended Spinning Babies® Parent Educator training while pregnant with my third baby.

Today, I can’t believe I’ve already been a Spinning Babies Certified Parent Educator for a year.

But the journey didn’t just start one year ago. These are tools I’ve used throughout my own pregnancies and labours, and many of the movements have been woven into my prenatal yoga classes for years. Becoming certified felt like a natural next step in supporting families through pregnancy and birth.

After spending time soaking up life with baby Bo, I’m excited to share that small-group Spinning Babies classes will be returning in Fall 2026.

Thank you to the families who have trusted me to be part of your journey so far. I’m looking forward to supporting many more.

A little quiet over here taking care of littles and all the other things.

I want to share so much and have so many great ideas but some days my mind feels like mush. I know I’ll be back to share what I love but for now I’ll continue to be in the background enjoying these precious (and sometimes hard days) with my kids.

Bodhin’s Post Birth Story

I don’t think many share about post birth because your bundle of joy has made their way earth-side end of story right? But what happens right after your baby is born?

Shortly after we announced that we had a baby boy and got some snuggles in the water, his cord was clamped and cut by third time proud dad :). Jenny instructed my husband to take off his shirt for skin to skin, she handed him the baby and he and the kids went to the bedroom to swoon over him some more.

Right after the birth Jenny asked me if it was okay to have a shot of Pitocin to help deliver the placenta since the delivery went so quick. I said yes, because my last delivery at home with Sage I was right at the limit for blood loss where my midwife said anymore and I’d have to go to the hospital. Thankfully it stopped but I didn’t want to risk this wonderful home birth to have to be moved to the hospital. I tried to birth my placenta in the bath, then the toilet, but it wasn’t quite ready so I moved to my bed where I later delivered it.

I got lots of skin to skin quiet moments with Bodhin and the rest of the family, with the midwives charting, cleaning up and taking vitals. Plus a well deserved lunch served to me in bed. When I was ready to go to the washroom they assisted me up to walk (hello lack of core!) and help set up my pads. Then of course the pressing down on my belly to do a fundal massage to ensure my uterus was contracting properly…not fun but necessary.

This was the first time I wanted to see my placenta and the midwife gave Avery and I a tour of it which was super cool for both of us. Megan took photos of my placenta and even took a print of it! She noticed it was shaped like a heart and Avery said that I always accidentally make everything heart shaped…even my placenta.💕
