Start With One Routine

You don't have to fix your entire life on Monday.

If September has you feeling like you need to get everything back on track, try something different:

Choose ONE anchor habit.

Not five.
Not ten.
Not an elaborate 47-step morning routine you saw on TikTok.

Just one thing that gives your day a little structure.

Maybe it's:

Having breakfast around the same time each morning
Taking your medications or supplements at the same time each day
Drinking water when you first get up
Starting your bedtime routine at the same time
Doing a 10-minute evening reset
Getting outside for a few minutes

The goal isn't perfection. The goal is to create one reliable point in your day that you can build around. And once that routine feels natural? You can add another.

Or you don't.

Because small routines are still routines. Your routine doesn't have to look impressive.

It just has to work for you.

September is here.

And suddenly the internet is full of “September Reset!” challenges telling you to completely overhaul your life.

New routines.
New diet.
New wardrobe and aesthetic.
New skincare routine.
New workout.
New morning routine.
New goals.
New you.

What if you don't need any of that?

What if you don't need to reinvent yourself every time the seasons change? Maybe you just need to return to the things that already work for you.

The breakfast you know keeps you satisfied.
The bedtime routine that helps you sleep.
The walks you actually enjoy.
The water bottle you forgot existed.
The few minutes of quiet you stopped making time for.

The routines that made life feel a little easier before summer happened.

You don't have to start from scratch. You can pick up where you left off.
And if something genuinely isn't working anymore? Change it. Absolutely.

But don't confuse “I need a little reset” with “I need to become an entirely different human being.”

September doesn't need a new you. You are already enough.

Maybe it just needs you, supported a little better.

Eat your fruit. Don’t drink your fruit.

Fruit is packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and natural carbohydrates — but one of the benefits we don't want to overlook is fibre.

When you eat a whole piece of fruit, you're getting the fibre along with everything else. Fibre helps support digestion, contributes to fullness, and can help slow the absorption of the naturally occurring sugars in your food.

Juicing removes most or all of that fibre, leaving you with a much easier-to-consume source of sugar and calories. It's also surprisingly easy to drink the equivalent of several pieces of fruit without feeling like you've actually eaten anything!

Eat the apple.
Eat the orange.
Eat the grapes.
Eat the berries.

You don't have to fear fruit — just give your fruit a chance to be whole.

And if you love a glass of juice? You don't have to ban it! Just think of it as a different food rather than a replacement for your daily serving of whole fruit.

Your gut will probably appreciate the extra fibre.

The Fibre Trap

“I've been constipated, so I started taking Metamucil.”

“I already get lots of fibre! I take Metamucil every day.”

And somewhere, a nutritional consultant is quietly crying into a cabbage.

Fibre is important. But more fibre isn't automatically better—and adding a big dose of fibre all at once isn't necessarily going to fix constipation.

Different types of fibre behave differently. Your individual tolerance matters. And your gut also needs things like adequate fluids, movement, regularity, and time to adjust.

Sometimes the problem isn't that you're not getting enough fibre.

Sometimes it's how much, how quickly, what type, and what else is going on.

If you suddenly go from “I barely eat fibre” to “I have decided to become one with bran,” your gut may have some opinions.

Start gradually.
Drink enough fluid.
Choose fibre sources your body tolerates.
Pay attention to your symptoms.
Give your gut time to adjust.

And if constipation is persistent, severe, painful, or a significant change for you, it's worth talking with your healthcare provider rather than simply adding more fibre.

It's not about doing more. It's about doing it smarter.

Which level of support do you actually need?

Sometimes the hardest part isn't knowing that you want to feel better — it's figuring out how much support will actually help you get there.

That's why I offer two different levels of ongoing support:

SUSTAIN YOUR HEALTH PACKAGE — 3 Months
For those who want personalized guidance, accountability, and ongoing support while building healthier habits.

TRANSFORM YOUR HEALTH PACKAGE — 6 Months
For those who need more frequent support, accountability, and time to work through more complex health and nutrition goals.

Both include personalized nutrition guidance, access to my recipe library, email support, and resources tailored to you.

And right now, you can earn a little extra reward for making that commitment:

Sustain Your Health: Complete at least 50% of your program → $50 off your final payment

Transform Your Health: Complete at least 50% of your program → $100 off your final payment

Because this is personalized support, I only have a limited number of new client spaces available.

Enrollment is open through September 30 or until spaces are filled.

You don't need to figure everything out on your own.
You just need to choose the level of support that fits your life.

Send me a message to chat about which option might be right for you.

The Spoon Theory Nobody Warned You About

If you live with chronic illness, you may have heard of spoon theory—the idea that we have a limited amount of energy available each day, and everything we do has a cost.

But here's the part nobody warned you about:

Not all activities cost the same.

A shower might take two spoons. Grocery shopping might take four. A social event might take five—and sometimes the recovery afterward costs even more. And the cruel part is that something that took two spoons last week can take all your spoons today.

And some days? You wake up with fewer spoons before you've even done anything.

That's why “But you did it yesterday!” isn't particularly helpful. Yesterday's energy budget has nothing to do with today's.

Pacing isn't about doing less just because you can do more.

It's about asking:

How many spoons do I have today?
What actually needs to happen?
What can wait?
Can I leave something in reserve for tomorrow?

And perhaps most importantly:

Can I stop treating rest like something I have to earn?

You aren't lazy because you have limits.
You aren't failing because your capacity changes.
You're living in a body that requires you to pay attention to its energy budget.

And that's okay. You're worth it.

Your routine isn't failing. It might just be asking too much of you.

When you live with chronic illness, your capacity isn't the same every day.

Some days you have the energy to meal prep, exercise, tackle your to-do list and feel like you've got your s**t together.

Other days, brushing your teeth feels like an Olympic event.

And that's exactly why rigid routines can be so difficult to maintain.

Pain flares. Fatigue hits. Your digestion decides to stage a rebellion. Your brain runs out of decision-making power. Life happens.

That doesn't mean you failed.

It means your routine needs to be flexible enough to accommodate the human being actually living it.

Small, sustainable habits > perfect routines
Progress > perfection
A routine that adapts to you > forcing yourself to adapt to it

If you're ready to build a healthier routine that works with your body instead of constantly fighting against it, that's exactly the kind of personalized support I provide.

My Back to Routine promotion is currently open, with limited new-client spaces available through September 30 or until spaces are filled.

You don't have to do everything.

Some days, your body gives you a rare gift: you actually feel good.

But, if you live with Fibromyalgia, that can be dangerous territory.

Because suddenly you have energy. Your pain is quieter. Your brain is cooperating. And naturally, your brain says:

“WE MUST DO ALL THE THINGS.”

Laundry! Errands! Cleaning! Projects! Socializing! EVERYTHING!

Then your body comes along the next day like:

“That was an interesting choice. Please prepare to pay for your deeds"

A good day doesn't mean your Fibromyalgia has disappeared. It doesn't mean your energy reserves are suddenly unlimited. And it definitely doesn't mean you need to “make the most of it” by exhausting yourself.

Pacing isn't giving up. It's protecting the good days.

Rest isn't something you have to earn after you've done enough. It's part of taking care of yourself before your body sends you the invoice.

If you've ever turned a good day into a three-day flare because you got a little too excited about functioning… you're definitely not alone.

Your routine doesn't have to be perfect.

If you're heading into fall thinking, “Okay, I really need to get myself back on track,” please remember this:

You don't need a perfect routine.
You need a routine that works for your actual life.

Especially when your energy, symptoms, digestion, pain, or capacity can change from one day to the next.

Small steps count. Flexible routines count. Starting again counts.

My Back to Routine seasonal promotion is open now, with a limited number of new client spaces available.

Sustain Your Health Package — 3 months: Earn $50 off your final payment when you complete at least 50% of your program.

Transform Your Health Package — 6 months: Earn $100 off your final payment when you complete at least 50% of your program.

Enrollment is open through September 30 or until spaces are filled.

You don't have to overhaul your entire life. You just have to start somewhere.

If you're ready for personalized nutrition support and accountability, send me a message or visit the link in my bio.
