No one is coming.

No one is going to do the work for you.

The sooner you realize you can move the bar with your own health through what you do every day - it’s empowering.

So, get out there and let’s get to it!

Happy Labour Day Long Weekend! 😊Wow… that went fast.

One of the simplest things you can do for your health? Start moving today.

Coach Mercedes and I talk about how you can absolutely improve your fitness at any stage of life - but it’s much easier to build momentum now than spend years playing catch-up later.

Some people will choose to be proactive with their health, and some won’t. But consistently moving, building strength, and maintaining your physical capacity can give you a much better opportunity to stay independent, resilient, and capable as you age.

You don’t need to overhaul everything today.

Just start moving and begin dripping things into your routine - keep the momentum going.

Your spine and nervous system are the foundation - but the goal is to use that foundation to move, lift, and stay capable.

Strength training helps build muscle, connective tissue, coordination, and resilience as you age.

Because falls can happen.

And if they do, having more lean mass, better coordination, and greater physical reserves can help protect you - and give you a better chance to bounce back faster.

Sometimes it’s hard to see that far off into the future - but your future independent self will thank you!

What’s your lunch time reset?

Even if it’s 5 minutes. And you have to eat while you walk.

Just get to it!

I’m out there doing it too.

Have you thought about your lunch hour like this before?
And/or are you doing something similar?

Coach Mercedes and I talk about what we call the slow drip versus the waterfall.

Rather than constantly starting and stopping - especially through busy seasons like summer - you’re better off building a pace you can actually maintain.

For strength training, that might mean lifting weights at minimum twice a week (ideally three times a week) over the long term to help maintain lean mass, strength, and capability.

You also don’t need to go all-out right from the start.

Instead of burning yourself out, find a rhythm you can make part of your life for years to come.

Consistency builds strength. Consistency builds resilience. And consistency helps keep you capable in the real world.
