LOVE LOVE LOVE! 🧡 Welcome to the South Quadrant of our WHIM journey. Today we honour Sâkihitowin / ᓵᑭᐦᐃᑐᐃᐧᐣ: Love.

In the South, we focus on our emotions and our relations with others. This is the place of Miyo-wîcêhtowin (Kinship), where we practice living in harmony and building emotional safety. 🧡

Somatic Check-in:
Bring your awareness to your chest and heart area. What do you feel? Is there a sense of warmth and openness, or do you feel a bit of tension or disconnection? Just notice it with kindness. 🧡

Exercise: Place one hand over your heart. Breathe in the warmth of the midday sun, like these beautiful prairie roses. As you exhale, imagine softening around your heart. You are worthy of love and connection! Yesss!

Thanks for being part of this healing journey with us. You matter! 🧡

🧡 Good morning, relatives.

Today’s teaching invites us to reflect on wisdom—not just as knowledge, but as awareness, experience, and connection.

Wisdom can be found in our stories, our relationships, our challenges, our healing journeys, and the quiet moments when we pause to listen.

As you move through your day, take a moment to check in with yourself:

✨ What is your body telling you today?
✨ What do you need more of?
✨ What wisdom have you gained through your experiences that might support you right now?

If you’re comfortable sharing, we’d love to hear one word or one reflection that describes what wisdom means to you today.

Good morning, relatives! 🧡 The sun is rising in the East (Wâpanohk), bringing us the gift of a new beginning and the Sacred Teaching of Wisdom: Iyiniw-itâtisiwin / ᐃᔨᓂᐃᐧᑌᐦᑎᓯᐃᐧᐣ. Wisdom isn't just about what we know in our heads; it's about listening to the deep knowledge held in our bodies and our connection to the land.

In our WHIM journey, the East represents our physical awakening and sensory awareness. Just as the sun warms the earth to start the day, we can learn to track the energy flowing through us. This is somatic wisdom in practice! 🧡

Somatic Exercise for Today:
When you first wake up, stay still for a moment. Notice the temperature of the air on your skin. Track your energy: where do you feel a spark of life? Where do you feel a need for rest? Gently stretch and feel your body coming alive. You are so wise! 🧡

LOVE seeing you all honour your wellness! Yesss! You are enough. 🧡 Thanks for being part of this circle.

Honesty (Kwayaskâtisiwin / ᑯᐧᔭᐢᑳᑎᓯᐃᐧᐣ) starts within. 🧡🌿✨ In the North Quadrant (Mental) of the Wahkohtowin Holistic Integration Model™, we explore the bridge between our thoughts and our physical sensations. Mental health awareness means being ‘honest’ with ourselves about the clutter we carry. Are you ignoring a tight chest or a clenched jaw? Sometimes, our minds try to power through, but our bodies are speaking a different truth. Practicing Kwayaskâtisiwin means pausing to acknowledge these somatic cues without judgment. 🧡 Somatic Practice: Take a deep breath and ‘honestly’ check in. Can you feel the weight of your feet on the earth? Wiggle your toes and imagine releasing one mental worry with every exhale. By listening to our bodies, we honour the wisdom of our ancestors and find the path to true Miyowâyâwin (Being Well). LOVE LOVE LOVE! 🧡 What is your body honestly telling you that you need today? Let’s support each other in the comments. 👇

This is a heartbreaking example of what happens when judges don’t have the time to listen to all parties.

We’ve supported many victims of domestic violence and coercive control, only to see it be dismissed due to cumbersome court processes and nuance legalities you need to be a lawyer to know.

We are proud of all those pushing the government and legal system toward reforms. 🧡

Bailey’s Law PASSES the Senate!

This may be the most significant change to the law of intimate partner violence in Canadian history.

I’m proud to stand with victims of IPV. It’s not the end. It’s the end of the beginning. And we will continue to press on in Bailey’s memory.

Tansi! 🧡 We are moving into the South Quadrant of our WHIM series, focusing on the beautiful teaching of Courage: Sôhkitêhêwin (ᓲᐦᑭᑌᐦᐁᐑᓐ).

In the South, we look at our emotions and our relationships. Often, we think courage means being fearless, but in our culture, it is truly about the "strength of the heart." It is having the heart to be vulnerable even when it feels scary.

Have you ever felt that lump in your throat or those butterflies in your stomach? 🦋 Those are your body’s vulnerability signals! Instead of pushing them away, try to honour them. They mean you are doing something brave.

✨ Somatic Exercise:
Place one hand on your heart and one on your belly. Take a deep breath in through your nose, feeling your chest expand. As you exhale slowly, imagine the "lump" in your throat softening and melting down into your heart space. Remind yourself: "I am safe to feel. I am strong in my heart."

LOVE LOVE LOVE seeing you all embrace your journey! Yesss! You are so brave. 🧡🧡🧡

🪶 Men’s Mental Health Month 🖤

Many men were taught how to provide.

How to protect.

How to endure.

But very few were taught how to heal.

Many carry burdens they never speak about.

Childhood wounds.
Grief.
Trauma.
Relationship struggles.
Financial pressures.
Fear of failure.
The weight of responsibility.

They carry it quietly because somewhere along the way they learned that vulnerability was weakness.

But healing requires courage.

The courage to be honest.

The courage to ask for help.

The courage to face what hurts rather than bury it.

The courage to believe that you deserve support too.

In the teachings of Wahkohtowin, we understand that wellbeing happens in relationship. No one was meant to walk alone. We all need connection, belonging, support, and people who remind us that we matter.

To the fathers.

The sons.

The brothers.

The grandfathers.

The uncles.

The friends.

The helpers.

The men carrying more than anyone realizes:

You do not have to carry it all by yourself.

Your pain matters.

Your healing matters.

Your story matters.

And you matter.

🖤 Reach out.
🪶 Stay connected.
🌿 Keep going.

Someone is glad you’re here.
