One of my clients was gracious enough to invite me to her Salangai Pooja dance recital. I was honoured as it was her first time performing. It was an amazing evening.

Your health and vitality are reflections of your internal balance. In Ayurveda, this balance is maintained through the harmony of your three doshas, Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.

✨ When your doshas are balanced, you experience:
• Steady energy and vitality
• Mental clarity
• Strong immunity

🌪️ When they’re imbalanced, you may feel:
• Fatigue or sluggishness
• Digestive discomfort
• Mood swings or restlessness

Ayurveda teaches that small, mindful adjustments in diet, lifestyle, and routine can bring you back into alignment supporting healing from within.

• 1 large organic cucumber (peeled and grated)
• 1 cup plain, organic whole-milk yogurt (fresh is best)
• 1/4 cup pure water (to thin and lighten the dairy)
• 1 teaspoon ghee or organic coconut oil
• 1/2 teaspoon whole cumin seeds
• 4–5 fresh mint leaves or cilantro sprigs (finely chopped)
• 1 tiny pinch of mineral salt or rock salt
Instructions
1. Prepare the Cucumber: Grate the peeled cucumber using a box grater. Gently press out a tiny bit of excess water with your hands, but leave most of it to maximize refreshing summer hydration. Place the grated cucumber into your main serving bowl.
2. Whisk the Yogurt: In a separate small mixing bowl, vigorously whisk the 1 cup of plain yogurt with 1/4 cup of water. Whisk thoroughly until it transitions into a light, fluid, and completely smooth consistency. Pour this thinned yogurt directly over the grated cucumber.
3. Temper the Spices (The Tarka): Heat your ghee or coconut oil in a small pan over medium-low heat. Drop in the whole cumin seeds. Allow them to sizzle and toast for roughly 30 seconds until they turn a rich golden-brown color and release an intensely aromatic aroma. Take immediate care not to burn them.
4. Combine and Infuse: Pour the hot, spiced oil and toasted cumin seeds directly into the cucumber and yogurt bowl. It will sizzle pleasantly upon contact, instantly infusing the dairy with digestive warmth.
5. Garnish and Serve: Toss in the fresh chopped mint or cilantro leaves and a small pinch of mineral salt. Gently stir all the ingredients together. Serve at a comfortable room temperature or slightly cool, keeping in mind that Ayurveda advises against ice-cold dishes which freeze the digestive fire.
Ayurvedic Energetic Notes
• Whisking with Water: Commercial yogurt can block the body's subtle channels (Srotas) because it is inherently heavy and clogging. Splitting it with water changes its molecular density, rendering it highly bioavailable.

Abhyanga is a traditional Ayurvedic oil massage designed to nourish the nervous system, improve circulation, and calm the body during colder months.

Warm herbal oils are applied in rhythmic strokes to support grounding, relaxation, and seasonal balance. This practice is especially supportive in winter, when dryness, tension, and fatigue naturally increase.
