The Autumn Equinox; when the light begins its journey to the dark. When the heat of summer transitions to the coolness of fall, the lush green trees begin to change to beautiful reds and golds. When the hectic summer days of grasping every piece of summer sunshine begins to slow down and we can take a moment to catch our breath. When the hot summer mornings become crisp and cool, the headiness of the heat becomes lighter and dewy. Fresh cut grass smell becomes crisp and fresh with an underlying tinge of the start of decay. The flowers begin their annual sleep and restoration, the animals start to gather and store supplies, the world begins its shift of hemispheres.
This is not a sad moment, a goodbye to summer. Instead this is a moment to show gratitude for everything summer brought, grew, gave birth to, and an opportunity to say welcome to autumn. A welcome filled with opportunities to rest, reenergize, release, and be present in the moment. Autumn is a time to gather the ideas or seeds, to sit back and enjoy or evaluate the fruits of your crops, and start the process of deciding what crops are next. Allowing the ideas to move fluidly through you and see what feels right and what makes sense before planting them in Spring.
Summer clothes switch to warm sweaters and hoodies, cold frappes become hot and warm, summer bbqs become pots of warm delicious soups and stews. The rush of the cold A/C becomes the crackle or heat of a fireplace and the summer hammock turns into a comfy couch to curl up on.

Today I encourage you to release everything that you no longer need or want to carry with, and make room for all the endless possibilities you wish to take forward with you.

Thank You Summer for everything you have provided and I enjoyed because of you. I am filled with gratitude.

Hello Autumn, I am Blessed to welcome you and the endless possibilities you bring. I am filled with joy and wonder.

I am grateful for those who have come into my life, even if for just a season for you have taught me things about myself and the world around me. I release you with love and light.

My body is feeling pain, even my hair hurts. But my kitchen witch soul thrives on making those around me happy by providing delicious yummy’s. Everyone’s self care looks different.

Therapy comes differently to everyone. I’m not your typical kitchen witch, I don’t fit inside a box of any kind and I feel like that’s ok. I go where I am called. I must admit cooking/baking has always been a passion of mine. There is something about immersing your hands in luxurious dough, watching as this mass of ingredients comes together under my hands into a beautiful delicious work of art, that is soothing to my soul. I feel pulled to the old ways, change is coming, and slowly I am awakening.

Healing comes in different forms for different people. For me food has always been an integral part of my life. The last 10 years my journey has been one of going back to my roots. Taking simple ingredients and putting them together to create something nourishing and delightful. Remembering my ancestors and how they fed their families with just the mere basics sometimes.

How many tears were shed, how many problems solved, how many secrets passed down and recipes, how much laughter was shared in so many kitchens while kneading bread, making soup, etc.

My witchy soul hates being boxed in and labeled. I heal and am healed in a variety of ways. Below are pictures of just one way. And on Imbolc it seems rather fitting 💖.
