When I love a book I buy multiple copies and gift them to friends. This is copy number 6. It’s going to my sweetest cousin who asked me about healing and manifesting out of the blue one day. Yup. It’s meant to be her copy. I’m on my fourth reading of the book (cover to cover). Why do I love it? It works. It’s simple. And it’s loving, funny, compassionate. But it always comes down to — is it simple enough for my day to day life? Yes. Yes, it is. And do I see/feel a difference? Yes I do. More peace, gratitude, go with the flow-ness. Less botherable. Memory making, confidence building, and responsibility flexing. Just the two of us. It feels like a little throwback to our momschooling years. We did a great job calculating the perimeter, but not so great when it comes to area. I think we neglected to factor in the depth. Oups! But we learned and laughed. And we get to go back to the store for another outing.

Sunday morning reading. When I start a book I need to get past the first chapter in the first sitting. I’ve noticed that if that doesn’t happen, I forget about it and move on. Maybe it’s because I’m reading several books at the same time. So this is my third attempt at reading this book. I’m well past the hump and in chapter 3. The narrator is dropping more bread crumbs and I’m hooked. This is one demands a sloooow read.

I’m in the waiting room at the doctors listening to Danielle LaPorte • Spiritual Direction for life + work new book Bless & Release. But today I’m going to skip this chapter and save it for later. It’s a deeply honest vulnerable and beautiful chapter. When I read it the first time, I cried. When I listened to it the first time, I wept. Today I’ll softly say Sa Ta Na Ma with my hand on my heart and skip to the next chapter. 🙏
