The Medicine Hat Health Foundation is a local, registered non-profit, charitable organization that is dedicated to enhancing healthcare in Medicine Hat. 100% of each dollar donated goes to local healthcare. We support and enhance the quality of local healthcare for the residents of Medicine Hat and the surrounding area. Our office is located within the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital.

Proceeds support the purchase of vital equipment at our hospital that improves the lives of patients and staff alike, such as our new Trident HD Breast Specimen Imaging Unit!

“The most beneficial part about having the Trident is its speed. It decreases the patient’s time under anesthesia and being open in the operating room, so it decreases the risk of infections. It also increases surgeon awareness. The equipment can be used to help in the detection of lymph nodes and breast cancer. It is crucial in identifying affected tissue in a timely manner.” – Lynzee Marsh, General Radiology Supervisor

The Medicine Hat Health Foundation would like to thank the Order of the Eastern Star for their donation of $500.00 in support of Breast Health. This donation will be put toward the implementation of Magseed technology at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital.

The Order learned about our campaign for Magseed in our Foundation’s quarterly newsletter and answered the call! One of their principles is that they do not take from the community, they give to the community.

Their local chapter recently celebrated its 100th anniversary, and they have been giving to the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital for 90 years, even during wartime!

Val Ballance, one of the key members who presented this cheque to our Foundation, was actually an x-ray tech at our hospital for 40 years!

Thank you, Val, and the Order of the Eastern Star, for supporting the advancement of breast health in our community!

The Medicine Hat Health Foundation would like to express our gratitude to Trish and Josh Helman for their generous donation of $40,725.08 in support of our Cancer Patient Financial Assistance Program! This donation was made possible by everyone who attended and sponsored the third annual Chip In Against Cancer Golf Classic.

“We are grateful for our continued and new supporters in this year’s Chip In Against Cancer Golf Classic. With this being our third year running the tournament, we are very proud of the success we have had,” says Trish. “The Cancer Patient Financial Assistance Program through the Medicine Hat Health Foundation is something that we hope grows in our community to support those in need. Josh and I are honoured to be a part of a program that helps local community members during one of the most testing times in their lives.”

Thank you, Trish and Josh, for your continued support. Each year you bring our community together to make things better for our cancer patients and to show them they’re not fighting alone. Together we can.

We’re looking forward to next year!
