Today, Dr. Marie-Christine Torchon, podiatrist, and her surgical team performed an exostectomy to remove a painful bony prominence affecting the hallux (big toe).

🔎 What is an exostosis?
An exostosis is a bony prominence that can become painful due to pressure from footwear, repetitive friction, or irritation of the surrounding tissues.

🦶 Today, the team of Dr. Marie-Christine Torchon, Podiatrist, performed a cheilectomy to treat hallux limitus.

The procedure was performed to improve the mobility of the big toe and reduce pain caused by degenerative changes within the joint.

🔎 What is hallux limitus?

Hallux limitus is a condition that gradually reduces the range of motion of the big toe. This limitation may lead to:

🦶 Aujourd’hui à la clinique : drainage d’un kyste mucoïde du 3e orteil

Aujourd’hui, Dre Marie-Christine Torchon, podiatre, a procédé au drainage d’un kyste mucoïde situé au 3e orteil, suivi d’une application de nitrate d’argent dans le cadre de la prise en charge de la lésion.

🔎 Qu’est-ce qu’un kyste mucoïde?

Un kyste mucoïde est une petite lésion contenant un liquide gélatineux, souvent située près d’une articulation de l’orteil. Selon sa localisation, il peut devenir inconfortable, s’irriter avec les chaussures, se vider spontanément ou récidiver.

👣 La prise en charge est adaptée à chaque patient et peut comprendre :

📝 "Distal phalanx desmoplastic fibroma of the hallux: a unique case mimicking a glomus tumor"

This article presents a rare case of desmoplastic fibroma in the distal phalanx of the big toe—an exceptionally uncommon location. We discuss its radiographic and MRI characteristics, differential diagnoses, and treatment options.

Because this condition is so rare, it can be easily misdiagnosed. Our goal is to raise awareness among clinicians and contribute to the medical literature.
