The Amputee Coalition of Canada relies on structured and validated programs, with the involvement of persons with amputation, to encourage a culture of support, networking, and active participation in life following limb loss. We do not endorse any product giveaways or the sale of any products or services. This is a PUBLIC Page - Being part of this group requires mutual trust. Our Social Media accounts are set to PUBLIC and anything posted can be viewed or shared by anyone on that Social Media platform. If you are looking for a PRIVATE group there are smaller community organizations that are set up to allow people to share their thoughts openly. Any information in regards to the ACC, its Board of Directors or business practices are all handled directly through e-mail to ensure accurate and direct information is shared in a positive manner. McMaster University School of Rehabilitation is undertaking the "F-words" project, a patient-centered framework actively expanded in 2026 to critical care, neonatology, and long-term recovery — including patients recovering from severe infections and sepsis. 🎂 September is Disability and Inclusion Month! And September 19th is National Orthotics and Prosthetics Day! 🎈🎈

Did you know that orthotic and prosthetic devices are not fully funded in Ontario? 👇👇

The Assistive Devices Program funds 75% of orthoses (braces) and only a portion of prostheses (artificial limbs). 👇👇

For individuals who are not on social assistance, the remaining cost results in a significant reliance on private insurance, or an inability to access orthotic or prosthetic care.

An and requires adequate public funding for orthotic and prosthetic devices. 🎈🎈
