🚨 Stop asking for MRIs… but let me clarify 👇

MRIs are incredibly useful when they’re actually indicated. 🧠

But for most cases of uncomplicated low back pain, imaging isn’t the first step.

🩻 Findings like disc bulges, degeneration and protrusions are extremely common — even in people with ZERO pain.

📸 Your MRI is a picture of your spine.
It doesn’t always explain your symptoms.

🧑‍⚕️And nowadays, radiologists will describe even very mild degenerative issues they see, and it’s rarely noteworthy.

💆🏽‍♀️ Also, doing some imagining during ongoing physio treatments rarely change the treatment plan we’ve decided at the initial assessment.

⚠️ Of course, if there are red flags, significant neurological symptoms, trauma, or suspicion of serious pathology, imaging may absolutely be appropriate.

✅ The point is: don’t let an MRI finding define what your back can or can’t do. 💪

Your spine is stronger than you think. 🦴🔥

Ryan Gosling knows his physiology 🧠😉

Your brain is one of the most metabolically demanding organs in your body, and under normal conditions, glucose is its primary fuel source.

Research on brain metabolism shows that glucose plays a major role not only in ATP production, but also in neurotransmission and normal brain function.

BUT… before the keto police come after me 👀

Your brain can adapt to using ketone bodies as an alternative fuel source when carbohydrate availability is very low, such as during prolonged fasting or a ketogenic diet.

So no, carbs aren’t technically essential for survival.

But yes…
your brain absolutely loves glucose. 🧠🍚

And apparently Ryan Gosling does too.

Cortisol isn’t the villain the internet makes it out to be. 😅

It’s a normal hormone that helps regulate energy, blood pressure, inflammation and your response to stress — and it naturally peaks in the morning before declining throughout the day.

Can chronically elevated cortisol influence body composition? Sure. It may affect appetite, food choices, sleep and activity levels. And in true pathological hypercortisolism, like Cushing’s syndrome, weight gain can absolutely occur.

But for most people, cortisol doesn’t magically create body fat regardless of energy balance.

Before trying to “lower your cortisol,” look at the basics first:

Calories.
Activity.
Food intake.
Sleep.

Those usually matter a lot more than your latest cortisol hack. 👀
